More Fond of Autumn
Welcome back to Stamping with Buffy! It finally feels like fall here in Virginia. It’s been so warm the past week or so, but today it’s finally getting a little more “autumnish.” I’m looking forward to sweater weather.
I posted one of the Mystery Cards we made a few weeks ago with Stampin’ Up!®’s Shannon West. You can see it here. I was playing around the other day, and I decided to make a similar one, but with a little twist and different colors.
Obviously, I used different colors, going with a Fall Theme this time. I laid the masks diagonally across a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock, leaving about 1/2″ between them. Then I blended Pumpkin Pie ink about halfway across using a Blending Brush. I blended the other half with Cajun Craze. After the ink was dry, I moved the masks, down and blended the next stripe with Calypso Coral and Pumpkin Pie ink. I decided to add one more stripe, so I moved the masks once again, and blended with Pumpkin Pie and Calypso Coral.
This is a perfect card for anyone who isn’t fond of coloring. Normally, I would use Watercolor Pencils, Stampin’ Write Markers, or Stampin’ Blends to color the fall leaves and flowers. This time, I stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink over the blended stripes. Instant coloring!
The sentiment, from Go To Greetings, is stamped in Cajun Craze. I added a few embellishments from the Leaf Label and Amber Gem Combo Pack, but thought it needed just a little something. I colored both sides of one of the Textural Elements from the July – December Mini Catalog with Cajun Craze and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends, then added it to the top of the card with Mini Glue Dots.
This card was fun to create, and didn’t take a long time at all.
