Fond of Autumn

Fond of Autumn

Welcome back, Stamping Friends! I realized today that I need to do a lot more physical work! Mike & I are trying to get the yard “winter ready.” When I say, “Mike and I,” that means more “I” than I would like! Our yard is fenced, and one neighbor is great about keeping weeds down. On the other side, the neighbor is very sweet, but about half of her yard is never used, and it has gotten overgrown with scrub trees, honeysuckle, and other weeds. It doesn’t bother me to look at, but the honeysuckle has decided to make a home on our fence and is creeping into our yard. So for the past couple of days, I’ve been trying to get rid of my unwanted fence covering and the trees that hang over into my yard. Oh, my – I am so sore and tired. Apparently, this old body is not used to that. Fortunately, it’s fall, so the weather is warm but not hot, and every now and then, a nice cool breeze passes through. Today was exceptionally lovely!

Yes, I am very fond of autumn – the season and the Fond of Autumn Bundle from Stampin’ Up!®

Fond of Autumn Bundle, Stampin' Up!

For this card, I started with a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Cajun Craze Cardstock. I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (SC&EM) with the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder. Then I lightly added some White Craft Ink over the raised areas using a Blending Brush. This really makes the embossing stand out but not obnoxiously so.

I added a 2″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper to the bottom. I ran this through the SC&EM with the Leaf Fall Folder as well, but you can’t see it well, even after I blended a bit of Tuxedo Black Memento Ink over it. That’s ok, though. The paper is gorgeous on its own!

Next, I stamped the floral image and sentiment from the Fond of Autumn Stamp Set on Very Vanilla Cardstock with Shaded Spruce Classic Ink. I cut the sentiment out by hand and cut the floral image with the coordinating Autumn Bouquet Dies (the other half of the Fond of Autumn Bundle. I try to always buy the bundle to save 10% over the individual product price.). I colored the leaves, flowers, berries, and acorns with stampin’ Blends, then added it and the sentiment to the Cajun Craze/gold layer. The card base is Shaded Spruce. For a little sparkle, I added some Amber Gems from the Leaf Label & Amber Gem Combo Pack.

This card was so easy to put together and very relaxing after a long day at work!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

This is a very nice autumn card. You did a great job coloring it! I think Mike should buy you a hot tub for all the hard work you did. It would make you feel a lot better!
