Let’s Set Sail!

Let’s Set Sail!

Happy Monday, my friends! While I was planning some projects for upcoming classes, I remembered a program Stampin’ Up!® offers to demonstrators. Each month they select a current bundle – either stamps and dies or stamps and a coordinating punch – and create several projects using that bundle. You can imagine how happy I was that two of the bundles I wanted to use for class were represented in the Bundle Focus program!

Let's Set Sail, Stampin' Up!
Except for forgetting the embellishments (which I’ll add later), I followed the instructions fairly closely. I may change a few things when we have class.

First, cut two 3-7/8″ x 1-1/2″ pieces and one 3-7/8″ x 1-3/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock. Ink the texture image in Pool Party Classic Ink, then stamp off one time and stamp on the Basic White Cardstock pieces.

Next, stamp the birds in Basic Gray Ink on the larger and one of the smaller strips. On the third strip stamp the reflection of the sails and the sentiment in Basic Gray Ink.

Adhere the stamped Basic White Cardstock pieces to the front of a Daffodil Delight card base.

On Basic White Cardstock scraps, Stamp the sails in Real Red Ink and the boat in Soft Suede. Here’s how I do it to avoid waste when punching. First, punch a pattern from card stock. I usually use some of my retired that’s sitting around so I don’t waste good card stock.

Next, place that pattern over the Basic White scrap in the Stamparatus. Place the stamps in the open areas in the pattern, close the Stamparatus plate to adhere the stamps, and then stamp the boat and sails. Your stamped images are perfectly lined up and ready to be punched with the Sailboat Builder Punch!

Adhere the punched pieces to the card above the stamped reflection. Add a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and you’re finished!

This card is perfect for a fun Father’s Day card.  And – good news! The Let’s Set Sail! Stamp Set and Sailboat Builder Punch were first available in the January-June Mini Catalog. Not only did the individual products carry over, but the bundle did as well! So when you use the bundle number (157906) to order the stamps and punch, you’ll save 10%.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Have a lovely day.

Buffy, this is a wonderful card. It is so funny how much difference it makes to slice the background layer into thirds, giving more texture. It makes the sailboat look more like it is negotiating waves.
