Amazing Thanks
When Stampin’ Up!® introduced the Amazing Thanks Dies in the January-June Mini Catalog, I almost missed them! Because I attended a virtual event, I got the Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set as a gift. I didn’t even notice the coordinating dies until I saw my friend Susan use them.
These dies are easy to miss. First, they are words and the stamp set is all images, so they don’t catch your eye right away. These stamps and dies are bundled, and the bundle is still current through June 30. Both the dies and stamp set carried over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. However, if you want both, your best bet is to order them before the end of June so you can save 10%. Once the mini is over, so is the bundled price!
Once the January-June Mini expires, the dies can be found way back on page 169 of the Annual Catalog. The stamp set is on page 72.
I was playing around with different background ideas the other day, and I loved a diagonally striped pattern. It was easy to turn it into a card using the Amazing Thanks dies.
How happy are those colors? I used 1″ x 8″ strips of (top to center) Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point, Parakeet Party, Mango Mel0dy, and Poppy Parade Cardstock. I adhered them to a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of card stock (no one will see it, so it doesn’t really matter what color), then trimmed the excess from the strips. I embossed the entire card front with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder, then I adhered that to a Basic Black card base.
I die-cut the thank you using the Amazing Thanks Dies and Daffodil Delight and Basic Black Cardstock. The dies actually die-cut the word thanks. I trimmed the s off thanks so I could have thank you, which – depending on who’s receiving the card – can be a little more appropriate. (Thanks for this idea, Susan!) I had glued the sentiment and silhouette together before I trimmed it, and it just looked weird to me. That was the only part of the sentiment that didn’t have the silhouette. Stampin’ Blends to the rescue. I used the Dark Basic Black to color the bottom of the k. Unless you’re really looking, you won’t notice. I added the words to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
For a little glitz, I added some of the Brushed Brass Butterflies to the front of the card. I love these! They’re cute and shiny, but they don’t add a lot of bulk to the card.
Thank you for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
**Last minute edit: Apologies to musicians and music lovers everywhere. I couldn’t see a clef on the embossed layer, so I think I may have put the card front on upside down. Oops! I must see an electrician about more light in my craft room!**
