Charming Happiness
Welcome to Stamping with Buffy! I loved a card my friend Jackie posted a few days ago, and I had to give the idea a try. (You can see Jackie’s post here.) My card shows off several new bundles, embellishments, and Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 2022-2023 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog.
I started with a 3-3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White Cardstock and embossed it with the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I used my paper trimmer to cut a 2″ slit about 1-1/2″ from the left edge. Then I tore the white card stock away, leaving about a 2-1/4″ square torn from the center. I cut just a little of the torn paper, then rolled the rest and glued it to the card stock. This way, there was a little less bulk if I mail the card.
Next, I sponged some Fresh Freesia and Tahitian Tide around the edges of the card stock with Blending Brushes. I backed the opening with a piece of the lovely Hues of Happiness DSP. One nice thing about this card design is you don’t need a big piece of DSP; all you need is just enough to cover the opening. Mine is 2-1/2″ square.
I wanted to send some flowers, so I stamped the bottle detail from the Bottled Happiness Stamp Set in Orchid Oasis on Highland Heather Cardstock and punched it with the Vintage Bottle Punch. Did you know that you can bundle stamp sets and punches as well as stamp sets and dies? Simply select the bundle order number and save 10%!
The flowers are from the Happiness Abounds Bundle. I stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Fresh Freesia, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends. Then I stamped some leaves in Parakeet Party and colored them with Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends as well. I die-cut the leaves and flowers with the Blossoming Happiness Dies (included in the bundle), and layered them behind the bottle.
The sentiment is from the Charming Sentiments Bundle. I stamped in Orchid Oasis ink two times, then die-cut with the Sentiment Silhouettes dies. I added it to the opening with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added a few Glossy Dots in Gorgeous Grape and Daffodil Delight. The card base is Highland Heather.
This was so fun to create, and it came together very quickly. Thanks, Jackie, for the inspiration!
Thank you for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
