Welcome back, my friends! I hope your week is going well! We are finishing up some ongoing projects around our house, so it’s a bit chaotic, but still good!
My card today uses an old – but awesome! – stamp set and punch, The challenge this month for our team of Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators was to swap returning stamp sets with each other and create a card with the borrowed stamp set. I chose two sets, and one was the Dragonfly Garden Stamp set. This has been a favorite of mine since it first came out.
I made three cards – one for the challenge, one for the demonstrator I swapped this stamp with, and one for me. All three are basically the same, but I used a different background technique with each. For this one, I randomly stamped the fill stamp for the flowers in the Color & Contour Stamp Set in different colors on a piece of Basic White Cardstock. I used Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Parakeet Party, and Tahitian Tide. I used my Stamparatus, and each time I inked the stamp, then spritzed it with a bit of water, then stamped. Then I moved the stamp and repeated the process. I also stamped the Basic White layer with some of the flowers and small dragonflies in Smoky Slate Classic Ink. I adhered this to an Orchid Oasis card base.
Next I stamped three dragonflies in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on another piece of Basic White Cardstock, then punched with the Dragonflies Punch. I colored the dragonflies with Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends, then added them to a piece of Vellum with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I adhered the vellum to the stamped layer using Seal Adhesive behind the dragonflies. (Parakeet Party and Tahitian Tide are new In Colors for 2022-2024, so they won’t show up in the supply list, since only Stampin’ Up!® demonstrators can order them right now.)
This card definitely needs some bling! I am going to add some rhinestones to the card, coloring them with the Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blends.
On Friday, I’ll show you another card I made for the challenge using the Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
