Jar of Flowers Shaker Card
Happy Friday! We have a full weekend planned with family. I think my favorite thing may be the egg hunt. I saw on a friend’s facebook page that they filled Easter eggs with coins, then buried them. The kids hunted them with a metal detector! That sounded so fun, so I buried a couple dozen eggs filled (well, maybe not filled) with pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. I can’t wait to see how it goes!
Can you believe it’s almost May? I keep thinking it’s January, except that the weather is a lot warmer and the grass and flowers are a lot prettier than in January. But we only have a little over two weeks until the new Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog goes live. I cannot wait!
Meanwhile, here’s a card using a stamp set that’s carrying over from last year. The Jar of Flowers set has reversible images that you can ink on both sides of the stamp (not at once, of course). They can be used as an outline and a filler. So fun! There are also four bouquets of flowers and some other pieces you can add. Take a look!
To make this card, I first stamped the large jar outline on Basic White Cardstock using Basic Gray Classic Ink. Make sure you leave enough room at the top for flowers and enough room at the bottom that your shaker dome won’t show. Next, I used the reverse of the smaller jar to stamp water in Balmy Blue, then the stems in Just Jade. (Make sure you color in the stems; I forgot to do this, so mine are transparent.)
Now, punch the jar from the card stock, and stamp the flowers in Basic Gray Classic Ink above the jar negative. Color the flowers with Stampin’ Blends.
Without gluing anything, position the Basic White piece on the Designer Series Paper. Adhere the punched jar back into the negative space. Remove the Basic White piece, and sprinkle a pinch or so of sequins into the center of the jar. Remove the adhesive backing from the back of the shaker dome and adhere it over the jar. Remove the adhesive backing on the front of the dome, add adhesive to the back of the stamped piece and place the stamped layer over the dome.
The Jar of Flowers Stamp Set and coordinating Jar punch are continuing for at least another year, but the Jar Domes are retiring May 2, so you’ll need to order them now. I also added a little Ladybug to the flowers. These are retired, but you can still snatch them up from the Clearance Rack. They are so cute, and a little Glue Dot anchors them right where you want them. (The graphic below shows that they are $7.50, but they’ve been reduced to $3.00. )
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, this is such a happy card. I love the yellow background that coordinates with the yellow flowers. Also that nice waterline that makes it look so realistic
