Honeybee Home

Honeybee Home

Hello, Friends! I am happy to tell you that my ankle seems to be completely healed. Yay! And later today, I’ll have the “Last Chance List” from the Stampin’ Up!® catalogs. I will try to get them posted this afternoon, but they’ll be here by Thursday.

Here’s a card that uses a retiring In Color and the Honeybee Home Bundle from the Heart & Home Suite in the January-June Mini Catalog.

Honeybee Home, Stampin' Up!, Heart & Home
I love the Heart & Home Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the January-June Mini. Each page has a woodgrain design, but the other side has flowers, bees, and other spring elements. Of course, it coordinates with both the Blessings of Home and the Honeybee Home Stamp Sets. Yes – this suite is so awesome, it has two stamp sets and coordinating dies. I’ve used the Blessings of Home Bundle a lot, so I thought it was time to show the Honeybee some love.

First, I chose the DSP design with small papaya flowers and adhered it to a Garden Green card base. On a 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock, I stamped the  flowers in Cinnamon Cider Classic Ink. I colored the flowers with Petal Pink, Old Olive and Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends. (We don’t have Garden Green Stampin’ Blends, so I went with the Old Olive.) Next, I stamped the bee with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored the body with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

I wanted a bit more greenery, so I die-cut some from the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum and added it to the flower garden. I wanted to be sure the Basic White panel didn’t get lost in the DSP, so I sponged the edges with a little Daffodil Delight ink.

Next, I went a little crazy with my Wink of Stella glitter brush. After I used it on the honeybee’s wings, I decided my shimmer vellum wasn’t as shimmery as I liked, so I added a bit more.

The sentiment is stamped in Cinnamon Cider ink on a Pale Papaya Cardstock strip. I used my Paper Snips to make a banner on one side. I am going to miss Cinnamon Cider after it retires. It’s a lovely color that’s perfect for fall, but it works well with other colors in other seasons as well.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
