Oceanfront
Happy Wednesday, my friends! This is another week that I start panicking because I have something I haven’t done – and then I realize I still have another day. Whew! We have a lot going on throughout the rest of February. It’s going to be busy, but very fun!
I was so excited to see so many “sea” sets in the Stampin’ Up!® January-June Mini Catalog. There’s Oceanfront, On the Horizon, Seas the Day, Let’s Set Sail, and, of course, the lovely Gentle Waves Background Stamp. So fun! I used the Oceanfront and On the Horizon Stamp Sets for today’s card.
It’s so easy to create an ocean scene with the Oceanfront Stamp Set. First, I stamped the sand using Crumb Cake Ink, then the water in Coastal Cabana. I wasn’t totally thrilled with it, so I added a little Pool Party over the Coastal Cabana. The sky is Balmy Blue. I added some birds from the On the Horizon Stamp Set. The sea grass is stamped in Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent Classic Ink.
For some sparkle on the water, I added a little Wink of Stella. It’s so easy to use. It’s a glitter brush, but it dries almost instantly and it doesn’t “shed” glitter. I don’t mind the shedding, but others who live in this house don’t care that much for it. I placed some Faux Sea Glass Shapes along the beach before I stamped the sentiment.
It seemed a little naked, so I wrapped some Linen Thread around the edge and tied it in a knot. Then I adhered the 3-3/4″ x 5″ Basic White stamped layer to a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ piece of Bermuda Bay Cardstock. I used it because it’s a little darker than Coastal Cabana and was a nice bridge between the water and sky. The card base is Basic White.
These stamp sets – as well as the others in the Mini and Annual Catalogs – are perfect for those of us who love being at the ocean. I’m looking forward to our next trip, and to sitting in the warm sun with a good book!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
