In the Moment
I love the In the Moment Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up!® January – June Mini Catalog. The images are so fun, and they’re “colorable,” which is my favorite thing. This is my favorite image.
I have to admit, reading is one of my favorite things. When Mike & I go to the mountains, I almost always spend 90% of my waking hours reading. And, of course, usually Mr. Max is right beside me.
For this card, I stamped the image on Basic White Cardstock, then colored with Stampin’ Blends. I had such a fun time using the Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends. These are available now in the All Together promotion from Stampin’ Up!®, and they’ll be available for everyone beginning February 1. There are 10 different tones, so finding the right color is so easy! I used these to color the hair and skin of the bookworm and for the dog.
I die-cut the image and the Soft Seafoam layer behind it using the Layering Diorama Dies. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the In the Moment Stamp Set on Pumpkin Pie Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I embossed the cardstock (before I adhered the image) using the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. The card base is Pale Papaya.
Doesn’t this card make you want to curl up with a good book and your favorite pet and hot beverage? To be honest, though, most of my reading is done on my tablet lately. It’s just easier to adjust the font size for my aging eyes. When Mike & I went on vacation in October, I had a bag of books to read. During the day with bright sunlight, I didn’t have trouble, but at night, I had to use a page sized magnifier. I remember my grandfather using one of those. Looking back, he was probably about the age I am now. One day, Amelia will say, “My Seesa used to use one of these…”
I hope you get to spend some time relaxing over the weekend! Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
You are really good at coloring. You need to give me a lesson. I love the bright colors you used. Very nice!
Thanks, Susan – but you need NO lessons in coloring! You are a master with the Stampin’ Blends!
I really love that stamp too. And I love any kind of coloring, water, blends, pencils, etc. You did a great job coloring this image. And I love to read too. I have had a Kindle (actually 4 Kindles over the years) for perhaps 6 or 7 years. The first one was only a reader, the rest have included email and almost everything. I have worn a couple out. When I travel international I no longer have to carry several books, leaving them behind in hotel rooms as I finish them. Now I take just one book (the Kindle) and can load as many as I want. And, yes, I can change the size or color any time my eyes need help.
Thanks, Sandy! You are one of the best “colorers” I know. I think we are twins, for sure! (I still miss our crayons!)
Reading is the best way to relax – and this card depicts it perfectly 🙂
Yes, it is! Especially by the fire, or wrapped up in a snuggly throw in bed next to a warm dog. (Did I mention it’s below freezing here? I could easily hibernate with a good book or 10!)
