Blessings of Home
Welcome back for my third post in the Using Soft Pastels series. Today’s is my favorite so far!
Isn’t that beautiful? And it’s very simple. Here’s how I made it.
First, I stamped the beautiful flowers from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set on Night of Navy Cardstock (4″ x 5-1/4″) using White Craft Ink. Then I heat embossed using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. (The Blessings of Home Stamp Set and coordinating Flowers of Home Dies will be available January 4, 2022, in the January-June Stampin’ Up!® Mini Catalog. If you bundle it, you will save 10% and be eligible to select a free Sale-a-bration product!)
Next, I used my Take Your Pick tool to shave some dust from the Coastal Cabana, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Pastels. I simply used the for corners of a large Acrylic Stamp Block to create little batches of each color.
Using a Blender Pen, I picked up the color I wanted (i.e. Granny Apple Green for the leaves) and colored over the embossing. The pastels stick to the embossing, and the color shows up so well on the white embossed areas. I also painted a little of the color inside the image as well. I continued with all the colors until I was happy with the results.
And that, my friends, is basically it. Isn’t that cool? I created a label using one of the sentiments from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set. I used Night of Navy Classic Ink and stamped on Coastal Cabana Cardstock. I used one of the Seasonal Labels Dies from the July-December Mini Catalog, then added it and a few Holiday Rhinestones to the card. I decided on Coastal Cabana Cardstock for my card base as well. Good news – the Christmas Season Stamp Set and Seasonal Labels Dies can be bundled to save 10%, but only through January 3. These items aren’t retiring (YAY!), but the bundled discount will end January 3, so order now to save some money.
On Friday, Susan, Jackie, and I will have special Christmas cards to show you, so be sure to take a minute and stop by. Yes, I know it’s Christmas Eve, but maybe you can squeeze in a few minutes in between wrapping gifts to check out our projects!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
