Hi, Crafters! If you’re in the US, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We had a lovely time with family, and now Mike & I are in Williamsburg, VA, celebrating our 39th anniversary.  So, welcome to another Friday Stamp Off with Jackie, Susan, and me! This week, we’re using Stampin’ Blends. I cannot wait to see Susan’s and Jackie’s posts, because they are so talented with these alcohol markers!

I decided to show a project that’s not a card. I’ve been making little gifts for “stocking stuffers” at Christmas. Sadly, I can never wait to give the gifts, so I’ve already given them away. Fortunately, I was at my mom’s today, so I took a quick photo of her gift – a refrigerator magnet.

This image is from the Blessings of Home Stamp Set. It’s a beautiful set, and, of course, has dies that coordinate with the floral images as well as dies that are “stand alone” images. It will be available in the January-June Mini Catalog, but Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators who registered for OnStage could order it early, because it was the set used for the “Stamp and Share” experience that weekend. Of course, I had to order it, and I’m so glad I did!

I stamped this image using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then I colored with my Stampin’ Blends. I knew I was going to give this to Mom, so I wanted it to be extra gorgeous. I used Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends to color it.

After it was colored, I used the coordinating Flowers of Home Dies to die-cut the image. Then I die-cut a few more (without stamping or coloring; I just cut the outline) from Basic White Cardstock, and at least two from a light cardboard. I always save the cardboard backing from Designer Series Paper (DSP), and that’s what I used for two of the layers.

I stacked all the layers, using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them together. The bottom layer was Basic White Cardstock and the DSP cardboard was mixed into the middle of the stack. The stamped/colored image was on top. I pressed the top of the stack (the stamped image) into VersaMark ink, making sure it was entirely covered, then embosssed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder. When it cooled, I added three magnets to the back. No matter how hard Mom tries to keep her refrigerator door neat, she always has pictures of family and friends to stick to it, so I wanted to be sure it would hold her memories to the fridge. I added three magnets to the back. That may have been overkill; two probably would have worked. You could also add a pin backing to it, or punch a hole with a Crop-a-dile or other strong punch and make it a tree ornament or tag for a gift.
