Mystery Pieces for Christmas

Mystery Pieces for Christmas

Welcome to a new week with Stamping with Buffy. I hope you had a lovely weekend. I am loving the fall weather here in Northwestern Virginia. It’s chilly – and sometimes downright cold – in the morning and evenings, but days are very mild. We helped celebrate the fifth anniversary of our favorite barbeque restaurant on Saturday. The weather was lovely and it was fun to celebrate with our friends. While it’s known for barbeque, my favorites are the friend chicken (best around!) and the ribs.

Today, I have our demonstrator team’s “Mystery Pieces” from October. These are the pieces we each received from Nadine. (Thanks, Chris, for the photo! I dove right into my card and forgot to take a picture of the “pieces.”)

Even though we all went with a Christmas theme, all of the cards were, again, so different from each other.

This is mine.

Stampin' Up!, Christmas Season, Jar of Flowers

I decided to use the Jar of Flowers Stamp Set with the Jar Punch to create greenery jars. I stamped the jars, then embossed with Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and added the greenery and berries behind the jars. This was a fun challenge for me, because I don’t make a lot of red and green Christmas cards.

This is from Nadine.

I love the embossing on the Garden Green Cardstock layer, as well as all the beautiful greenery and the pinecones. So pretty!

Here’s the card from Sandy.

How cute is this deer? I love how Sandy colored the Rhinestones with her Stamping Blends to coordinate with the card stock – and used one for the eye of the deer.

Next is Chris’s card.

When I looked at this one, I kept thinking, “Wait – that’s not the Designer Series Paper (DSP) I got!” And then I realized that Chris used the DSP from the packet behind her sentiment tag, then added her own for the main layer. I love that! And her die-cut greenery goes so well with the DSP.

Here’s Christy’s card.

Christy used both sides of the DSP and added that cute tag with the rhinestone. I love how she let the DSP be the star of the show here. So festive!

Next is Liz’s card. (Susan, this makes me think of you!)

I know Liz is happy with the way this turned out. Everything is balanced so perfectly, and I love how she used the Delivering Cheer Stamp Set. The mini tree mimics the DSP.

And this is Carol’s card.

How awesome is the way she used the ribbon? The embossing with the punched DSP tree, the die-cut circles – they all work so well together to make a beautiful card.

Every month I am so blown away by the cards my team sends in for the challenge. They are so talented; I’m in awe. Awesome job, Ladies!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy I love your Christmas jars. I can smell the cinnamon when I look at that card. And yes, I know which card will be Susan’s “favorite”.

Your mason jars filled with greenery are beautiful – and would translate beautifully into real life décor! Everyone’s cards turned out great 🙂
