Peaceful Place Suite
It’s another Stamp Off Friday! This week, we’re using our favorite products from the Stampin’ Up!® 2021 July-December Mini Catalog. It’s no secret that I love the Peaceful Place Suite – particularly the Peaceful Place Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Peaceful Cabin Bundle (Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set and Cabin Dies; these are 10% off if you purchase the bundle).
My card is a double challenge. Not only does it use some of my favorite products from the Mini Catalog, but it’s also for a challenge with our demonstrator team. That challenge is to create a Christmas/Holiday card that doesn’t use any red or green. If you remember, I tried to do that with this card, but I forgot and colored the leaves Just Jade, which is definitely a green.
For my Peaceful Place card, I used the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP on the front. I stamped the sentiment from the For Unto Us Stamp Set in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink, then added some Basic Rhinestone Jewels that I had colored with the Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Blends. I also added a bow using the gorgeous Metallic Mesh Ribbon from the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. This may be my favorite ribbon ever!
The DSP was added to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ Basic Black Cardstock layer, then to a Blackberry Bliss card base.
The inside is the fun part of this card, though.
This is a “tunnel card” with a little twist. First, the card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″. The Basic Black layer is 4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″, then 2-3/4″ from both sides. After I scored it, I trimmed about 1/8″ off the left and right edges so it would close better. (I did this after scoring because I didn’t want to do the math for scoring a 4″ x 10-3/4″ piece of card stock.)
Using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies, I cut windows in the two center Basic Black panels. Using the Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set, I embossed the cabin using White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on two 2-1/2″ x 3-1/4″ pieces of Vellum Cardstock, then adhered them behind the Basic Black layer, behind the die-cuts.
Here’s a look at the inside of the card, looking down the “tunnel.”
To assemble the card, lay the Basic Black Cardstock flat against the Blackberry Bliss card base with the center folds together. The Basic Black center fold will be a mountain fold; the Blackberry Bliss center fold will be a valley. And, of course, the two Basic Black side folds will be valley folds as well.
Add adhesive on the backs of the two ends of the Basic Black layer and adhere to the card base. I added 2-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ pieces of the same Peaceful Place Specialty DSP to the ends.
Add a tea light inside the “tunnel” for a stunning luminary. I tested it with an actual tea light, but only because I was standing right there, ready to extinguish any unwanted fires. When I find my battery operated tea lights (or buy new ones), I’ll use those instead.
I just realized that there’s no place to sign this without messing up the card. I will probably add a Basic White Cardstock layer on the back with a greeting and signature.
This is not an original idea; I was inspired by Renee Ewart.

Buffy, this is gorgeous. I almost used the cabin and was glad that I did not. I love that bow on the front and the “surprise” inside
