Celebrate Sunflowers

Celebrate Sunflowers

Welcome to a new week with Stamping with Buffy. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Mike had to be out of town, but I got to spend time with some friends, my mom, all my kids, and Amelia (my granddaughter). Amelia and I even got to have a sleepover. It was so much fun. she hogged the covers and Max (our pug) hogged the bed. (He takes up a lot of room for a little dog.) I woke up this morning on the very edge of the bed with a dog on my leg, a pony tail in my face, and half of me uncovered – and I wouldn’t trade that for anything.

Before all the fun, I created this card for someone who wanted a “special card.” I hope she (and the recipient) like this one, because I had a blast creating it.

Celebrate Sunflowers, Stampin' Up!

You can’t tell in the photo, but I used the “Faux Linen” technique for this card. First, I used a Blending Brush to gently add Bumblebee Classic Ink over a piece of white tissue paper. I don’t know the exact measurements, but it was about 5″ x 6-1/2″. Then, I stamped the small sunflower from the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set randomly over the tissue paper using Cinnamon Cider Classic Ink. Next, I crumpled the tissue paper, then uncrumpled it and glued it to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Bumblebee Cardstock. I ran that through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and adhered that to a Just Jade card base.

Again using Cinnamon Cider, I stamped the large sunflower on another piece of Bumble Bee Cardstock, and the leaves on Just Jade Cardstock using Just Jade Classic Ink. I die-cut the sunflower image with the Sunflowers Dies and fussy cut the leaves.

I used the Sunflower Dies to die-cut the details of the sunflower and the leaves from Gold Foil Sheets, then added them over the sunflower, then adhered them to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also used the die-cuts to create the center of the sunflower from Soft Suede Cardstock.

The sentiment, also from Celebrate Sunflowers, is stamped on Bumblebee Cardstock using Cinnamon Cider Classic Ink and die-cut with the Stitched Rectangle Dies. The embellishments are retired, but the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels or the Gilded Gems would be lovely.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!

Buffy, this is absolutely beautiful. I would not known that you had used the faux linen technique, and can’t imagine trying to color the tissue paper without ripping it. Lovely
