Down on the Farm
Welcome back to another Friday Stamp Off with Susan, Jackie, and me. This week’s theme is Down on the Farm. When I saw that, I knew exactly what stamp sets I wanted to use.
Don’t these little critters look like they’re having fun? I was raised on a farm, but we never had sheep or goats. I think my grandparents may have had sheep at one time, but it was before I was born.
I used the Counting Sheep and Way to Goat Stamp Sets and the Sheep Dies. The sheep dies coordinate with the Counting Sheep Stamp Set, of course, and they are both free during Sale-a-bration! You still have almost a month to earn them!
First, I created the meadow using the sky design in the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper. My plan was to use the green design for the grass, but it must have been a favorite of mine, because I was out. Instead, I used my Blending Brush to add Old Olive Ink to a piece of Pear Pizzazz Cardstock.
Next, I stamped the sheep and the goat on Basic White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored them with Stampin’ Blends. I used the Sheep Dies to die-cut the fence, clouds, and sheep images; the goat I had to fussy cut since there are no dies with that set. I actually enjoy fussy cutting, though, so it wasn’t a big deal. (I know; I’m in the minority with the fussy cutting.)
I had so much fun creating this card with the playful, dancing farm animals. Now, please take a minute or two to see what Jackie and Susan have created. We have so many options available besides the sheep and goats – peekaboo farm animals, birthday chickens, fruit and veggies, evergreen trees for a Christmas Tree Farm, and even canning jars – which farm families have probably been using a lot of the past few months. Oddly enough, I didn’t even think of these options once I had the sheep and goat idea, even though fruit, veggies, and canning jars were more like my life down on the farm.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a wonderful day!
