June Mystery Parts Challenge

June Mystery Parts Challenge

Welcome to Stamping with Buffy! Today, I have the cards from our Mystery Parts challenge for June. This challenge is similar to the Food Network TV show Chopped. Instead of a basket, our participants get an envelope with at least four “mystery ingredients,” or card parts. They have to use at least a little of everything, but they can also add to it with their own products. Here are the parts Christy gave everyone for June.

Aren’t these fun? Sadly, the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper (DSP) is retired, but it was not retired in June when Christy sent out the packets. I am so glad she included it, because it’s so sweet! (Just an FYI – the piece she gave us was bigger than this one. I had been playing with it before I took a photo of the “parts.” Oops.)

So here’s what our team did with the Mystery Parts. This one is mine.

Hats Off, Stampin' Up!

I am trying to get out of the little box I’ve put myself in, so I’m using more stamp sets I wouldn’t normally have purchased. This is the Hats Off Bundle. I colored my ribbon with a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend before using it.

Nadine made two cards.

I love the embossing on the Basic White piece, as well as the strips of So Saffron Cardstock. It kind of looks like a trellis against a stucco wall, don’t you think? And the flowers are gorgeous. I love how she nestled the ribbon in the bouquet of flowers.

This is Nadine’s second card, using the other side of the DSP. I love her floral wreath.

Here is Sandy’s card.

I love the border along the right side. It adds so much interest, and it gives a peek at the DSP inside. And aren’t those little ice cream cones adorable and perfect for summer?

This is Liz’s.

I love her fun-fold card with more adorable ice cream cones. So cute!

This is Christy’s.

She used both sides of the DSP, and I love the cocktail negative from the die-cut. So clever!

And this is Chris’s card.

Chris also dyed some of her ribbon, and I love the two-tones! There’s so much texture, with the embossing and the pattern of the DSP. The sponging on the card stock is subtle, but adds a lot, and that cocktail looks yummy!

So that’s it for June. Our next group features fun products from Carol. It was not out of my little box, so I created my card the day I picked up my envelope. It was so fun, and I can’t wait to show you all the cards next month.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I love your baseball card. It shows how easy it is to use that baseball hat, just dressing it up a bit with some background DSP

Such fun and varied cards! Amazing how everyone can create such different cards, with the same base materials.
