Paper Pumpkin – with a Twist!
Hello, and welcome to a new week, my friends! Before I show you what I did with my Paper Pumpkin kit this month, I want to share some fun things that happened to me on Friday.
First, I got to visit with my mom, sister-in-law, and nephew. It’s been fun to get together every week and catch up. I had bought Sharon a Stampin’ Up!® kit to put together, so I showed her how to sort the pieces and stamp the sentiments and the images. I think she’ll enjoy putting it together!
On my way home, Mike called and suggested we go to dinner. Several months ago, he “saved” a real estate deal for another Realtor. At the final walk-through, some lights wouldn’t turn on, and the buyers were getting ready to walk. Mike put on his electrician’s hat and walked the Realtor through the repair. Since he didn’t have to do anything except advise, he didn’t charge him for the virtual service call. They just sent photos back and forth, Mike said, “do this; now do this…” and it was fixed. Still, the agent was so grateful he sent a gift certificate to one of our favorite restaurants! We used that Friday for dinner.
Next, we stopped at the grocery store for a few things. As I was putting my cart away and walking back to the car, a young girl came up to me. (Ok, I say young. She was probably in her early-mid 20’s. To me, that’s young.) She explained that she wanted to do nice things for people that day, so she had bought some lovely pink roses at the grocery store and was looking for someone to give them to. How sweet! I was so pleased that she chose me, because I love pink roses. And yellow roses. And coral…Ok, I just love flowers.
So not only did Mike & I get a free meal, I got roses! I need to up my game. All I did was give a young man a dollar I found on the floor and pick something up for a lady outside.
This is all small stuff, but it reminds me that we are all connected and all one “human family.” It costs very little – if anything – to be kind to others!
So this brings me to the Paper Pumpkin kit. I love kits, especially when I need a card quickly. Very rarely do I alter the design or add things to the kit projects. For me, that negates the purpose of the kit. But this month, I did change one of the card designs a little bit.
Here are the three cards from the June Paper Pumpkin Kit. If you got the kit, you will know that I changed the note card in front a bit. The other two are almost just like the instructions called for; I simply left off the twine.
The original background for the thanks card did not have the gilded leafing. I painted “veins” over the background piece using my Fine-Tip Glue Pen, then added the Gilded Leafing to it. I love the way it looks! If you had put your subscription on hold and didn’t get this kit or if you want more, check my store later today to see if there are any available. (Note: You must be a subscriber to take advantage of this offer.)
If you aren’t a Paper Pumpkin subscriber, you have through July 10 to sign up for the next one, The Adventure Begins. You can order a pre-paid subscription from my store, or you can subscribe month-to-month here.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day – and happy crafting!
Man you are difficult! Showing more beautiful gold leafing so now I have to think about that again. Congrats on the dinner and rose!

Thanks, Jackie! This reminds me a little of the old “Polished Stone” technique. Who needs Glossy White Cardstock and Metallic Ink? (Me, but that’s another story!) I just ordered my 3rd container of leafing.

Thanks, Susan! It was a lovely day! (Plus I spent the morning in the craft room.) I love the leafing, but I guess it’s time to move on to something else for awhile.
