Mystery Parts Challenge for May
Welcome back to another Mystery Parts Challenge! As always, this was a lot of fun! Here’s what Liz sent everyone.
We each got a Highland Heather card base, a Gorgeous Grape Cardstock square, a layer of Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper (DSP), and a Square Vellum Doily. Just a note about the Hydrangea Hill DSP: While the Hydrangea Haven Bundle carried over to the new Annual Catalog, the DSP did not. It will retire June 30 (or while supplies last), so if you love it, order today!
Here’s the card I made with the challenge parts.
I mostly used the Seaside Spray side of the DSP. After I cut 1″ off, I used the Polka Dot Pattern Party Mask to add Highland Heather polka dots to the DSP. I used the scalloped edge die from the Scalloped Contours Dies to create the front edge of the card. Behind this, on the inside, I adhered the 1″ strip of DSP I cut off earlier. Then I adhered the inked DSP to the front of the card.
On a separate piece of Basic White Cardstock, I stamped the flowers from the Hand- Penned Petals Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, the colored with Fresh Freesia, Balmy Blue, Blackberry Bliss, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
After I adhered the Square Doily to the Gorgeous Grape Cardstock square, I adhered it to the front of the card. Next I die-cut the flowers with the Penned Flowers Dies (which, of course, I bundled with the Hand-Penned Petals Stamp Set). I adhered the flowers to the doily using Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added a bow made from the Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon, the sentiment, and a few Pastel Pearls.
Here are the other entries for the challenge.
This is Sandy’s Card. I love that little butterfly!
This is Liz’s. I love how she turned the square piece of card stock into a frame for the doily.
This is Christy’s card. She also made a scalloped edge for the front of her card, and I love the three panels of DSP.
This is Carol’s card. Carol cut the DSP into a right triangle so she can use it on two cards. Clever and fun, don’t you think?
And this is Chris’s card. She cut the doily down and turned the DSP into a tri-panel for the front of the card.
Everyone did a beautiful job! For June, we have another set of fun products to use. I can’t wait to get started.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Gorgeous cards! Everyone did a great job with the ‘mystery parts’. I really like how you did the shorter, scalloped edge on your card.
