Artistically Inked Background

Artistically Inked Background

I am totally in love with the Expressions In Ink Suite from the 2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog. The Artistically Inked DistINKtive Stamp Set and the Expressions In Ink Specialty Designer Series Paper have images that look like an alcohol ink background. They are both gorgeous.

Some friends and I are in a swap each month, so I pulled out the Artistically Inked Bundle (Artistically Inked Stamp Set and Artistic Dies) for my May swap.

Artistically Inked, Stampin' Up!

I love the border stamp in this set, but I didn’t want just one color. Even though DistINKtive stamped images are different strengths of colors, I wanted more. So I used  Sponge Daubers to add Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, and Soft Succulent Classic Ink to the stamp, then stamped on Basic White Cardstock. I used a different Sponge Dauber for each color so the ink wouldn’t get muddy, and I also cleaned the stamp between stampings.

I stamped the border on all four sides of the 4″ x 5-1/4″ card stock. On a different piece of Basic White Cardstock, I stamped the round flower in Polished Pink, the small flowers in Pale Papaya, and the leaves in Soft Succulent Classic Ink.

I die-cut the stamped flowers and leaves, and the Evening Evergreen greenery using the Artistic Dies, then added them to the stamped layer. I wanted just a bit more, so I stamped the small dots randomly on the Basic White Cardstock layer using Pale Papaya Classic Ink.

On a scrap of Basic White Cardstock, I stamped the sentiment in Polished Pink, then punched it and the Evening Evergreen scalloped oval using the Double Oval Punch. The top layer with the punched and die-cut pieces is adhered to a Soft Succulent card base.

I love the way this turned out, don’t you? The background is so soft and colorful, but I don’t think it overwhelms the die-cut images.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

What a great idea to add a selection of colors to the background stamp. This is wonderful and enables so many color combinations!
