Prized Peony Fun Fold

Prized Peony Fun Fold

Welcome back, crafty friends! This has been a fun week so far. I’ve been cutting and scoring and die-cutting and embossing for my card buffet this Saturday. Whew! I’m happy to take a break and show you another option for the buffet.

Stampin' Up!, Prized Peony

I got this idea for a fun-fold card from my friend Susan Horr. It’s so much fun – and it’s simple, so it’s extra special! Here are the details.

First, cut a 4-1/4″ x 11″  card base from Pretty Peacock Cardstock and score at 4-1/4″ and  5-1/2″. You also need to cut Basic White Cardstock – two 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ pieces,  and one 3/4″ x 3-3/4″, and two pieces of Mint Macaron – 1″ x 4″ and 4″ x 4″.

Next, place a strip or two of Tear and Tape Adhesive or other strong adhesive inside the card on the 1-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ flap at the fold to create a book-like opening. Adhere the Mint Macaron Cardstock Pieces to the Pretty Peacock card base.

Stamp the peony image in Pretty Peacock Classic Stampin’ Ink on the 3-3/4″ square piece of Basic White. Next, stamp the triangle background image – again in Pretty Peacock Classic Ink – on the 3/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock. Adhere these over the Mint Macaron Cardstock pieces to the front of the card.

Use the Tailored Tag Punch to punch a notch at the top and bottom of the 1-1/4″ section at the fold. Wrap the Braided Burlap Trim through the notches and around the card 1-1/2 times. Cut the trim, then tie the trim in a knot.

Stamp the sentiment on a scrap of Basic White Cardstock, then punch with the Tailored Tag Punch. Punch another tag with the Tailored Tag Punch from Pretty Peacock Cardstock, then adhere the tags together. You can cut the tags to add Pretty Peacock Cardstock to the top and bottom, or you can cut the Pretty Peacock tag horizontally  then add it behind the Basic White Cardstock tag to show a little below and above the cut punch.

Stamp the small magnolia image in Pretty Peacock Classic Ink on the last 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ piece of Basic White Cardstock, then adhere inside the card.

Thanks, Susan, for this idea! And thank you for stopping by Stanping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
