Here’s another card option for the card buffet on March 27. I used the Buffalo Check Background Stamp and the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set for this one.

Geared Up Garage, Stampin' Up!

I stamped the Buffalo Plaid Background Stamp in Pacific Point on Basic White Cardstock. To do this, I turned the stamp upside down on the block (rubber side up), then inked with a Pacific Point Classic Stampin’ Pad. I made sure I had all the “nooks and crannies” inked, then laid the Basic White Cardstock over the inked stamp. This way, I could be sure the image would be straight on the card stock. Then I placed a piece of scrap paper slightly larger than the stamp over the stamp and Basic White Cardstock, and rubbed to transfer the ink to the Basic White Cardstock. (Why did I use the scrap paper? So I wouldn’t look like a Smurf. I made sure the scrap paper was slightly larger than the stamp so the scrap paper would take the excess ink and not my fingers.) Holding the card stock to the stamp with one hand, I pulled up a corner with the other hand to check and see if the card stock was covered. If there were blotches, I rubbed a bit more. When I was happy with the coverage, I layered it to a Basic White card base.

Next, I stamped the car image from the Geared Up Garage Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Basic White Cardstock, colored it with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, then die-cut with the Garage Gears Dies. I stamped some of the smoke in Gray Granite Classic Ink on a piece of Basic White Cardstock, then added the car die-cut. I adhered this layer to a slightly larger panel of Pacific Point. I love the Granny Apple Green/Pacific Point color combination, don’t you?

The sentiment is also from Geared Up Garage. I stamped it in Granny Apple Green Classic Ink, then added it to a slightly larger Pacific Point panel. Then, I layered both the image and sentiment panels to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

This is a great set for “guy cards.” I have a nephew who will be turning 39 in a little over a week. (Goodness, that makes me feel old! But it’s my older brother’s son, and while I’m not old enough to have a 39 year old child, he certainly is!!) This card will be perfect, because he’s a classic for sure!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
