Flowers & Dragonflies

Flowers & Dragonflies

I’m ready for spring; who’s with me? I’m ready to see little spring flowers, I’m ready to start seeds for the garden, and I’m ready for flip-flops! We’re getting there, but not quite yet.

I had a different card planned for today, but I realized it was perfect for our BS&J challenge on Friday. Instead, I have a very simple card for you. It’s not quite “simple stamping,” because I used two punches and some Braided Linen Trim.

Flowers for every Season, Stampin' Up!, Dragonfly Garden

This is another one of those times when I let the Designer Series Paper (DSP) do all the work for me. For this card, I cut two designs of the Flowers for every Season DSP and adhered it to a piece of Just Jade Cardstock. I love this pattern, because it reminds me of wallpaper. It’s just like visiting your grandma’s house, don’t you think?

I decided to use the linen trim as “chair rail” between the two patterns, because it looked a little earthy and “garden-ish.”  After it was secure, I added the card stock and DSP to a Mint Macaron card base.

I used the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set for the sentiment and dragonfly. I stamped the sentiment using the beautiful Marvelous Magenta Classic Ink on Basic White Cardstock, then punched with the larger, scalloped oval in the Double Oval Punch. The dragonfly is Just Jade Classic Ink on Mint Macaron Cardstock and punched with the Dragonflies Punch. This punch can be bundled with the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set through June 30. If you bundle, you can save 10%. And, honestly, don’t you want a dragonfly punch? The Double Oval Punch is also part of the Oval Occasions Bundle, but I didn’t use the Oval Occasions Stamp Set on this card. However, if you do want the stamp set, bundle it with the punch to save some money!

The Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set and both punches are from the January-June Mini Catalog. The DSP, card stock, trim, and ink are all in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog – except for Basic White, which is new. You can find the Basic White Cardstock, along with all the other products used on this card, in the list of products at the end of this post.

Be sure to check back Friday to see what Jackie, Susan, and I have created for you with our Stampin’ Blends!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
