Itty Bitty Birthdays with World of Good
Tonight was our local Stampin’ Up! Gathering. I love getting together with my team and other area demos, even when we’re not in person. We spend the time chatting, catching up on what’s happened in each others’ lives over the past month, and more. Of course, we also talk about the Stampin’ Up! promotions and events, have a challenge for the next month, and enjoy a Make & Take.
Carol was our Make & Take hostess this month, and she brought an amazing “masculine” card for us. Many of us get stuck when we’re making cards for men. I know I feel funny using flowers and butterflies on cards for the guys in my life. So I was thrilled with this card.
Isn’t this a great card? The card base is Crumb Cake, with a layer of Misty Moonlight over that. The beautiful banners really take this card to another level. She used the World Of Good Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the top banners. The DSP has beautiful antique designs and textures, as well as brass foil accents. (The accents on the banner on the left is all brass. The bottom half looks a bit different because it’s reflecting my red fleece jacket. Virginia is cold right now.) The two DSP banners are layered to a larger Brass Foil banner. Carol used the Banner Triple Punch to create the banners.
The sentiment is stamped on a Crumb Cake Rectangle Stitched Die-cut. I chose to stamp the Happy Birthday stamp from the Itty Bitty Birthday Stamp Set using Soft Suede Classic Ink.
This card is very quick and simple (especially since Carol did all the work cutting and punching! All we had to do was stamp and layer), but it doesn’t look simple at all. You could step it up by adding a few embellishments and/or embossing the Misty Moonlight layer, but, honestly, I like it the way it is. It’s very classic and definitely “manly.” And while I love cards that have a lot of pieces and texture, I don’t always have hours to make a card. This one has texture and lots of interest without a lot of work. Carol definitely hit this one out of the park!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
