Simply Succulents
Happy Wednesday, my friends! I have a fun card for you today. I was inspired by my friend Jackie to order the Simple Succulents Bundle from the January – June Mini Catalog. Here’s my card.
Jackie has done so many gorgeous projects with this bundle. Her “thank you” card for my participation in the (in her words) “evil plot” to coerce her to purchase the Gilded Leafing Embellishments tipped me over. So who’s really plotting here? Jackie and Susan have convinced me to order so many products and bundles I didn’t think I needed that I think they’re actually plotting against me!
If you haven’t met my friends Jackie and Susan, they are the J & S of our BS&J Stamp Off challenges. Check out their blogs, because they are amazing!
For this card, I stamped the succulent images in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored with Mint Macaron, Highland Heather, and Rich Razzleberry, and Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends. I die-cut the stamped images as well as a few other images (from Mint Macaron and Shaded Spruce Carstock) using the Potted Succulents Dies. If you order the stamps and dies together (the Simply Succulents Bundle), you’ll save 10%. And, seriously, you’ll want the dies and the stamps, so why not save some money?
I embossed a Soft Seafoam Cardstock layer with the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder, then added the die-cut images using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiment is also from the Simply Succulents Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce die-cut using the Potted Succulents Dies.
This sentiment is perfect for my mom. When my brothers and I were growing up, Mom made every day an adventure. And this continued with my kids and my nieces and nephews. Mom is amazing! We never had a “blah” day. Our backyard swing set was a horse we needed to tame. Our dining room table was a fort. Rainy days were times to read about mysteries that kids our age solved. Years later, when Mom was with my boys and me in a motel where we were supposed to enjoy the pool and other outdoor activities but the thunderstorms canceled that plan, she turned it into an amazing adventure. My mom is a superhero, and I can only hope to be a pale imitation of her. Mom, if you’re reading this – you totally rock!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have an amazing day!

I think this is the reason we are all friends. Friends help friends make wise decisions whether it is helping with coffee or water issues or stamping products. That is what friends are for. Now, this stamp bundle is on my list. PS: You are as amazing as your Mom! She taught you well.

Boy, I’m so glad that I tipped you over because this is a stunning card. The brick wall makes it look like the real deal and those colors and details are soooo pretty. I will go along with Susan’s “wise decisions” argument, tee hee

“Thanks for the memories”! I remember most of them through your recounting them. My 88-year old filing system is so full, it is hard to know which drawer to open! I do know life truly is an adventure, and i have loved watching you fill your sons’ and granddaughter’s lives with those innovative special moments. The card is lovely. BS&J have come up with some doozies!!

Thanks, Mom! Just don’t let Amelia know about your full filing system; she wanted to do surgery on my brain the other day to find all my memories.

Thanks, Deborah! I think I like succulents because you don’t have to water them as much. I had a lovely plant by the front door that was supposed to live forever because it didn’t need much water. But then my guys, knowing how I am about watering plants, decided to help me out by emptying their water bottles into the plant every day. “Another one bites the dust.” No one will give me plants any more.
