Darling Donkeys, Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-bration

I can’t believe the first Stampin’ Up! Sale-a-bration of 2021 is just about halfway over. This month has gone so fast! The Darling Donkey set was one of my first free sets. I love these cute little guys.

Darling Donkeys, Stampin' Up!, Sale-a-bration

Aren’t they adorable? This is one of the cards we’ll be making at the Bingo Event. The event is February 20 from 1-3. Here’s what you get for your $25 ticket price –
4 Make & Take (simple but cute greeting cards)
3 Games of Bingo
Welcome packet with awesome gifts
Lots of fabulous prizes
…and more! It’s going to be so much fun. The deadline to sign up is January 31. Contact me if you’re interested. It will be in person and online. Of course, the in person one will follow the current COVID safety suggestions. (Hint: Space will be limited, so you’ll need to sign up soon!) Online will be through Zoom – and I’ll send the link as soon as I receive payment.

So back to the donkey. For the Bingo event, we’ll use the Oh, So Ombre Designer Series Paper, another Sale-a-bration product. Sale-a-bration products are free with $50 and $100 purchases. For this card, though, I used the new Blending Brushes to blend Blackberry Bliss Ink on Purple Posy Cardstock. I love the soft look you can get with the brushes. (Check in later this week for some tips for using the brushes!)

I adhered the Purple Posy Cardstock to a Blackberry Bliss card base, then cut a window in the front of the card using the Layering Ovals Dies and added a layer of Basic White Cardstock on the inside of the card. Making sure of placement (I wanted to be sure the donkey was in the center of the oval, not off to one side, or only half visible through the window), I stamped the donkey using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

I lightly blended some Purple Posy Classic Ink around the donkey in an oval pattern. I didn’t mask; I just “eyed” it. I added a little ground under the donkey with some Granny Apple Green Classic Ink, then used Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, and Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends to color parts of the donkey and the flower.

I stamped the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss Ink, then punched with the Timeless Label Punch and added it to the front of the card.

This card was super quick to make, and it made me smile because the donkey is so adorable.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
