Simply Succulents

Simply Succulents

Welcome back, Stamping Friends! I hope your week is going well. I received a thank you card from Jackie (the “J” in BS&J Challenges) the other day. Here’s the back story.

A few weeks ago, Jackie, Susan, and I were discussing the Gilded Leafing in the January-June Mini Catalog. Susan and I love it; Jackie wasn’t sure. Susan messaged me and suggested we send Jackie cards using the Leafing to kind of push her over the edge. I added a little sample of the Leafing in my card, so she would have a chance to try it out.

She appreciated our cards so much. Actually, I think she called it our “evil plot,” but apparently it worked, because she has some on the way! She made a beautiful card using the sample I sent her, and can’t wait until my Sweet Strawberry Bundle gets here so I can use her idea!

This is the thank you card she sent me – and I was so happy to get it, mostly because Jackie creates such beautiful cards, but also because I don’t have the Simply Succulents Bundle yet. (It’s on the way, though.)

Simply Succulents, Stampin' Up!

Jackie embossed the top Crumb Cake Cardstock layer with the lovely Painted Texture 3D Folder before adding the stamped and die-cut images from the bundle. (And, yes, again – if you order the bundle instead of ordering the stamp set and dies separately, you’ll save 10%.) I think there may be some sponging on the embossed layer as well.

She colored the blooms and container with Stampin’ Blends – and didn’t she do a beautiful job? I love how she mixed and blended the colors. And there’s a bit of Wink of Stella there as well.

The sentiment and the die-cut label are also in the bundle, and the strip of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper adds a lot of “faux texture.” When I first opened the envelope, I thought it was a rustic ribbon until I pulled the card out of the envelope.

I am looking forward to using this bundle – and seeing more of Jackie’s and Susan’s Gilded Leafing projects! On Friday, Susan, Jackie, and I will be showing our favorite product from the new Mini Catalog. I have cards planned, but my favorite changes daily.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

I had a good laugh when I read Jackie’s post, about your ‘evil plot’! LOL! Hey, what are friends for, if not enable each other to the good stuff 😉 And I agree – Jackie does make beautiful cards, like this one!

During a pandemic, apparently we have taken on the hobby of “card slamming”. Or we need to come up with a better term for it.
