A Touch of Ink
Welcome to the first full week of 2021! So far, it’s been calm and uneventful, but we’re still in our peaceful house in the mountains. Mike & I were going to head home on Sunday, but we realized we didn’t have to. We are empty nesters and self-employed, so that gives us a lot of freedom!
We have had an amazing weekend. It was so fun to have some of the kids here. After Wes, Katelyn, and Amelia went home, it was so quiet. Amelia had such fun “pranking” me. She used some of my washi tape and Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach my glasses and other things to my desk. I had made a card that I was going to send to either my mom or my sister-in-law for a birthday card (it was my Hydrangea Haven card from my blog on Friday). She placed it into my closed laptop after she wrote, “I love Seesa,” inside. Well, no one is getting that card now! Every time I look at it, it warms my heart. I could add it to another card base, but I won’t (or as Amelia would say, “I willn’t!”) Her little love notes make me smile every time I see them.
Today, I have a Sale-a-bration Sneak Peek for you.
This card uses the A Touch of Ink Stamp Set from the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® Sale-a-bration. My mom loves hummingbirds, so I usually buy all the hummingbird stamp sets Stampin’ Up!® releases. I didn’t have to buy this one, because it’s a Sale-a-bration product that I “pre-earned” with a $100 order. Here are the details.
First, I stamped the floral outline image with Pretty Peacock Classic Ink. Then I stamped the insides of the leaves with Just Jade Classic Ink. Next I stamped the hummingbird outline with Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink, then stamped the inside with Highland Heather Classic Ink. I added a few extra highlights to the hummingbird with Pretty Peacock Stampin’ Blends. The sentiment is also stamped in Pretty Peacock Classic Ink.
I wanted to add a little more detail to the card. so I used a Versamark Pad over the cardstock using the “Direct to Paper” technique. In other words, I patted the Versamark Pad over the edges of the cardstock. Then I sprinkled some Heat & Stick Powder over the ink, heated just till it melted, then added some Gilded Leafing. This is Amelia’s favorite card that I brought with me this weekend, and I promised I’d help her make a Gilded Leafing Card when we all get home. I love this product!
So – just a reminder – today is January 4. This is the last day you can order from the August-June Mini Catalog. Order today to be sure you get the products you want before they’re gone forever.
Tomorrow is the first day of the January-February Sale-a-bration and the beginning of the January-June Mini Catalog Sales Period. I have sent many of my current customers a copy of the mini and the Sale-a-bration brochure. I think they have been delayed because … Well, I don’t know why, but I know a lot of people haven’t received them. If you want a catalog, I will send you one. If I’ve already sent it and you haven’t received it yet, I’ll let you know. I can always send you another one, and you also will have access to the online catalog. I know you’re going to love all the products that are available in the mini and the free products available during Sale-a-bration!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
(This product list only includes products that you can order through January 4, 2021. The other products will be available January 5, 2021.)

Amelia is a delight. And, yes, grandchildren are the best. I know you’re happy to be closer to (most) of yours! I love finding new ways to use the leafing!

Tee Hee! May be dangerous to teach Amelia about pranking, but then you did get a love note out of it. This is an amazing card. I agree with Susan, that the direct to paper Leafing is delightful!

She loves pranking, but it’s always good natured. I think she knows if she leaves a love note, she can get away with anything! I’m really enjoying the Leafing. I have a feeling we’ll be using it a lot – especially on unicorns!

Hummingbirds are a favourite of mine, as well! I love watching them buzz about the feeder. Ooh – that gilding looks amazing! Great addition to this pretty card 🙂
