Snowflake Wishes Shaker Card
Welcome back, my crafty friends! Our weather forecast says we’re supposed to have a nice winter storm today, so Snowflake Wishes, from the August-December Mini Catalog from Stampin’ Up!® seemed to be the perfect stamp set to use today.
First, I apologize for the photo. I had a great photo of this on my phone, but it decided not to share, so I used my tablet. It didn’t turn out quite as bright as I’d like.
This is another easy shaker card. We made this card at classes in December, and everyone decided they would be using this idea for shaker cards from now on. It really is so simple.
First, stamp a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (DSP) with a sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set using Pacific Point Classic Ink. I added a few snowflakes on the DSP as well. The snowflakes are also from the Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set.
Next, place the DSP in a Clear Medium Envelope, the add a pinch or two of sequins. The sequins I used a retired. I have been buying the adhesive backed sequins lately, because they’re much easier to use. But any small “shakable” bits would work.
Make sure the DSP is against two adjacent edges of the envelope, then seal the envelope tightly. You’ll be pulling the flap as far as you can (without bending the DSP) to seal.
Next, fold the top of the envelope down to the DSP and tape. Adhere the envelope to a Gorgeous Grape card base using Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Add a snowflake diecut from the So Many Snowflakes dies with a Mini Stampin’ Dimensional, then add a Beaded Pearl over the dimensional using a Glue Dot. Make a bow from the twine in the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and add it behind the snowflake using a Glue Dot.
And that’s it! It couldn’t be easier to make a shaker card. I was never a fan of shaker cards until I saw this idea. So fun!
We are taking bets on whether or not we’ll get a lot of snow. Usually they promise a nice snowstorm but then we get a slight skiff. So we’ll see. We’re ready for whatever we get. We have plenty of water and firewood (just in case we lose power), food, and our snowblower. All the cars have full tanks of gas. That means, of course, we may get an inch or two! I’ll let you know what happens.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

You jinxed the storm by being so ready for it! I am not sure if I should hope you get a lot of snow or not. I have to try one of these cards sometimes. They look like such fun!

Thanks, Jackie! Yeah – I don’t always either. And it doesn’t really matter, because I’m not going anywhere until the roads are clear!
