All Dressed Up for Winter

All Dressed Up for Winter

Welcome back, my crafty friends! I hope you have had a lovely week. We went from summer to winter in a day! It was so weird – one day we were outside enjoying the lovely weather, and the next – freezing! It’s still rather chilly in the mornings, but by afternoon, it’s not so cold. It is almost winter, though, right? So we should expect some colder temperatures whether we want them or not.

I had a great idea for my classes this month. I love to do 3D and packaging products for classes now and then, just to add a new dimension to our crafting. I decided against this one, because I had another idea that I liked better, but this is the treat bag that I thought would be cute.

All Dressed Up, Itty Bitty Greetings, Snowflake Splendor

I die-cut the bag from the All Dressed Up dies using the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. I added a handle from Coastal Cabana Cardstock.

After I put the bag together, I added a Whisper White die-cut snowflake from the So Many Snowflakes Dies and placed a Beaded Pearl in the center. Oh, my goodness! Aren’t these the most beautiful embellishments we’ve ever had? I love them! I need to buy more and make a “sweater card” for my mom for Mother’s Day (or her birthday, or just because I love her) and use them for buttons.

I die-cut a Seaside Spray Cardstock label from the All Dressed Up Dies, then stamped the Sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set using Pacific Point Classic Ink.

Although I opted for a simple shaker card for class instead of the packaging idea, I still wanted to have a treat for everyone this month. So I wrapped some cookies with the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper (DSP), added a little ribbon and a tag, and ended up with this cutie.

I used the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack to wrap the cookies horizontally over the DSP, then added a Honeybee Cardstock tag over the ribbon and DSP. The sentiment on the tag is from the October Paper Pumpkin Kit, and I punched the end of the tag with the Banners Pick a Punch punch. If you’re reading this and you’re attending a class in December, pretend to be surprised.

You may be wondering what I did with the All Dressed Up treat bag. Or, if you’ve followed me for, oh, six years or so, you probably already know. I pick up Amelia from school almost every day. If you have or have had kids, you know they’re hungry after school. I always bring a snack for Amelia when I pick her up, so today, I put a pack of cookies and some sugar free “lifesaver” type candies in the treat bag for her. She loved it and has plans for the treat bag now that it’s empty of snacks!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Wow – that little gift bag is adorable! The paper, the pearl accent – I’m sure Amelia would have loved it if it were empty when you gave it to her (the treats were a big plus, though!) Great project, Buffy!

Thank you, Deborah! She would have loved it, but not as much! I know she’s hungry when she gets out of school, so I always have a snack for her. I think she would have been very surprised if it was empty. 🙂
