Stamp Off Inspiration Challenge

Stamp Off Inspiration Challenge

Happy Friday, Crafting Friends – and welcome to another Stamp Off Challenge with Jackie, Susan, and me. This week, we have an inspiration challenge.

I love inspiration challenges because you have so much room for interpretation. You can use the picture, the idea, the colors…It’s all up to you.

The little Christmas tree ornament really caught my attention, so I used that for my inspiration. Here’s my card.

Perfectly Plaid, Curvy Christmas, Stampin' Up!

I haven’t used my Pine Tree Punch at all this year, so I pulled it out and punched two trees from the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), then punched one more from a Champagne Foil Sheet. I added a Gold Foil star to the champagne tree using the Playful Alphabet Dies. This is probably an asterisk die, but it was the closest thing to a little star that I could find. And with the rustic look of the DSP trees, it seemed to work.

To mimic the tree in the background of the inspiration photo, I stamped some evergreen branches from the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set in Garden Green Classic Ink on a Garden Green Cardstock panel. I love “tone on tone” stamping.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink at the bottom of the card stock. The perfectly Plaid Stamp Set has several adorable tree stamps that coordinate with the Pine Tree Punch.

I adhered the two DSP trees to a Garden Green panel , then added the foil tree – with a bow made from the Poppy Parade All the Trimmings Ribbon – to the card stock with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I added the Garden Green panel to a Real Red card base. Even though the ribbon is Poppy Parade, I think it works really well with the Real Red card base, don’t you? It’s far enough from the card base that you can’t tell they’re not exact, and it pulls in the red from the inspiration photo. Plus, the gold “star” looks great with the gold edging on the ribbon. That’s one thing I love about Stampin’ Up!® products. They all coordinate and you don’t have to search all over for products that go together.

This was a fun inspiration photo, and I can’t wait to see what Susan and Jackie have created. Please take a minute to stop by their blogs and see how they were inspired by the photo. And I know they’d love it if you’d leave a comment.

I’m going to have a lovely weekend (starting tomorrow!), because my order from the Stampin’ Up! OnStage Event arrived today. So many fun new products to play with! What should I start with? Vote in the comments – goats or flowers?

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Thanks, Peggy! It’s funny that we all saw something different in the inspiration photo.
Funny story about the goats…They’re donkeys. (And I grew up on a farm!) When I showed the set to my team last night, they all looked at me really funny. Finally, someone said, “Those don’t look like goats.” Nope. They’re donkeys. Guess I had the other goat set stuck in my head. (With a name like, “Darling Donkeys,” why would I think they were goats? I need sleep.)
