Quite Curvy – with Spots!
Welcome back, Crafty Friends! I saw a new idea last weekend at the Stampin’ Up!® OnStage Event. Take a look.
This is such an easy way to create a colorful and fun background. Simply take a Stampin’ Spot and, starting a little off the card stock, swipe it side to side until it’s off the card stock. Easy!
The colors I used are Just Jade, Cinnamon Cider, Pear Pizzazz, and Bermuda Bay. Yes, I know the Pear Pizzazz looks like Old Olive. Pear Pizzazz is actually a lighter shade of Old Olive, and I had just refilled my Pear Pizazz Stampin’ Spot, so it’s quite dark.
After I inked the Whisper White Cardstock and let the ink dry a little, I added the curvy leaves from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set in Garden Green Classic Ink. This stamp set, as well as the coordinating Curvy Dies will be in the upcoming Stampin’ Up!® January-June Mini Catalog, but you can order them now. You can also add the Curvy Christmas Stamp Set and the Classic Christmas 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper.
I added the sentiment in Early Espresso Classic Ink. And then the card went sideways.
I wanted to add one of the birds from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set to the card. So they would stand out, I stamped them in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. It looked horrible, and I threw the card front away. A few minutes later, however, I could hear myself telling my stampers, “You can always fix things you don’t like.” Feeling a little guilty, I decided to “practice what I preach,” and fished the card front out of the trash. Fortunately this trash can was for paper only!
I used the Curvy Dies to die-cut the black birds from the card front. Then I stamped them again on Whisper White Cardstock using Pear Pizzazz, Bermuda Bay, and Just Jade Classic Ink. I die-cut the new birds, then added them back to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals, and added it to a Bermuda Bay card base. I need to add a few embellishments or some ribbon, but for now – this is the completed version.
Give the Stampin’ Spots a try! They’re fun to work with – especially with the Stamparatus since they don’t make as much mess on the plates since they’re smaller – and they’re super easy to pack if you’re stamping “on the go.” We sell the empty spots as well as a set of Classic Spots that are already filled. And, of course, if you order any of our all-inclusive card kits or the Paper Pumpkin kits, you’ll get a Stampin’ Spot in each kit.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
