Cards from Friends
Welcome to a new week, my friends! Today I want to show you some of the sympathy cards I received from friends. This is only a few of them. I’ll show you more on Wednesday.
This card is from April. I love the pretty and bright colors she used, and all the butterflies.
This one is from Carol. Again, I love the soft colors. It’s such an elegant card.
This card is from Marilyn. Marilyn’s cards are so cool, because they’re bigger. My mom loves making the larger cards. And I love the fall colors, and the sentiment.
Here’s Peggy’s card. I just realized that every card uses a shade of purple – which is my favorite color. And all the sentiments are so comforting.
This is from Sandy. I love how each card is different and all are amazing! Aren’t they beautiful? Each card made me feel cared about and brought peace.
When we were talking about my dad after the funeral last week, Mike & I were remembering the little tree in our backyard when we moved to our current home. I was so happy, because I was sure it was an apple tree, and I couldn’t wait to show Dad the apples I grew. (He is probably still smiling about this story.)
The first year or two, we had no fruit on the tree, but the third year we were thrilled to see blossoms in the spring. And then fruit started growing. When I checked on the tree, though, there weren’t apples growing on the branches. Apparently it was a pear tree. Dad’s comment was, “Well, at least you got fruit!”
My dear mom said, “In your defense, apple leaves and pear leaves look a lot alike.” To which my older brother, also named Mike and who had spent most of his high school and college summers working in the orchards, said, “You can tell the difference from the bark.” I told him I had never heard the tree bark, so how would I know? He looked at me like I was crazy. Sometimes I think he wonders how I made it this far in life.
Check back Wednesday for more gorgeous cards from my friends.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
