Zany Zebras Slimline Card
Happy Wednesday! I have another slimline card for you today, using the Zany Zebras Stamp Set from the 2020-2021 Annual Stampin’ Up!® Catalog. I’m on a mission to use Stampin’ Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP) this month, since selected patterns are being offered at a 15% discount.
First, I cut a 7″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Purple Posy Cardstock, then scored at 3-1/2″ to create a 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ card base. I love this size. My dad’s sister always sent Dad a funny card for his birthday and Christmas, and they were always this size. Memories!
I cut an 8-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of Night of Navy Cardstock for the next layer. Then I used the Rectangle Stitched Layers to cut two stitched rectangles from Whisper White Cardstock. I stamped zebras on these panels using Night of Navy Classic Ink. I also stamped the shadow under the zebra images in Night of Navy Classic Ink.
Since there was room under the zebras, I stamped sentiments under the images using Gorgeous Grape Classic Ink. Then I needed a center panel.
I decided to use the Playing with Patterns DSP for this one. I stamped the sentiment in Night of Navy in the center of the 2-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ piece of the DSP. Because I used the Stamparatus, I could stamp the sentiment several times so it was dark enough to be seen. You can also stamp the sentiment on Whisper White Cardstock, then die-cut, punch, or fussy cut the sentiment and add it to the DSP.
The two stamped die-cut panels are adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The center DSP panel is adhered using Stampin’ Seal Adhesive.
This is a perfect birthday card for anyone! You can send it to men, women, or kids.
Check back in on Friday for another Stamp Off! Challenge with Jackie, Susan, and me. This one is a color challenge, and I’m really excited to show my entry! Ok, this has been a crazy couple of weeks. I haven’t created my card yet. I don’t even have an idea of what I’ll be creating. I know Susan and Jackie are saying, “What’s new?” But I’m sure I’ll have an inspiration by then! Next week I’ll show you some of the beautiful handmade cards I’ve received from friends after my dad’s passing. They are amazing – as was my dad!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
