Poinsettia Petals with Poppy Parade
Happy Friday! I’m so excited to be able to go to Amelia’s school this afternoon for a “Fun Run” fundraiser. I don’t have to run, but I do get to cheer Amelia on. Although she loves to run, she has decided to skip instead of run today. At the end of the event, they’re having a popsicle dance party. She may be more interested in that than the actual Fun Run.
Meanwhile, here’s a card we made at our September Card Classes using the Poinsettia Petals Bundle from the Stampin’ Up!® August-December Mini Catalog.
The Poinsettia Petals Bundle includes the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set and coordinating Poinsettia Dies. Bundling them saves 10% over the cost of purchasing them separately.
For this card, I started with a Poppy Parade card base. It really makes the white poinsettia stand out, especially with the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper (DSP). The fun thing about the Poinsettia Dies is there are dies that cut the petals and leaves, and dies that emboss the veins. With the new Magnetic Plate for the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, it was a cinch to cut and emboss all three of the Whisper White layers at one time. I did the same with the Just Jade layers, then cut the Copper Foil and Bumblebee pieces. So all of the die-cutting for this card was finished in just three passes through the machine. And I just realized I didn’t use the Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set (except for the inside sentiment), just the Poinsettia Dies. Still, you’re going to want the stamp set as well. Check in on Monday for a card that really does use the bundle!
All that was left was to glue everything together and adhere to the card. I added a little sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink under the flower. The inside sentiment, “May magic & wonder bloom this holiday,” is perfect to use with the poinsettia.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. I hope your day is full of magic and wonder!

Thank you, Deborah! I rarely do red & green for Christmas, so I was surprised at how much I liked it! And we had a blast. I will definitely be sharing the experience.

Thanks, Susan! I don’t know what I had planned for the copper foil (I have several packs), but I’m glad I found it. You and Jackie have inspired me with your use of foil!

Thank you, Jackie! I was happy with it, even though I don’t do traditional Christmas colors that often.
