Snowflake Wishes Times Two

Happy Wednesday, Stamping Friends! I’ve been looking at the recent Slimline Cards, and decided to join the craze. Mostly, I made this decision because this is the sized card my mom likes. Years ago when she made her own Christmas cards, she made this size because my dad liked bigger cards. Check it out.

I used the Snowflake Wishes Bundle (Snowflake Wishes Stamp Set and So Many Snowflakes Dies from the August – December Mini Catalog; bundle the stamps and dies to save 10%) for this card. First, I cut a 7″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Pacific Point Cardstock and scored it at 3-1/2″ to create a 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ card base. Next, I cut a 3″ x 8″ piece of the gorgeous Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (DSP), then die-cut the label using one of the So Many Snowflakes Dies.

I stamped the sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes Bundle in Whisper White Craft Ink inside the label (before I adhered it to the card), then I embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  After adhering the DSP back to the card base, I added some Balmy Blue and Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper die-cut snowflakes. Finally I added some Basic Rhinestones Jewels.

You can create your own envelopes for these cards, or you can use a business envelope. Easy!

I had a 4″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Pacific Point Cardstock leftover after I made this card, so I decided to make a small twisted easel card.

First, I scored the 4″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Pacific Point at 4-1/4″ to create a 4″ x 4-1/4″ card. I scored the front side from top right to bottom left. I cut a 3-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ piece of the Snowflake Splendor DSP and cut it from the bottom left to top right so I could have two triangles. I adhered the triangles to the card base.

Next I cut some snowflakes from Whisper White and Balmy Blue Cardstock, Silver Foil, and Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper using the So Many Snowflakes Dies. Be careful when you adhere these to the front of the card, because some of the snowflakes overlap the fold. Make sure your adhesive is only on one side of the score line.

I stamped the sentiment using Whisper White Craft Ink, then embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Next, I added one more large snowflake cut from Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper. When you twist the easel behind the glimmer snowflake, it looks like this.

Aren’t these fun? And I love that I got two cool cards from one piece of card stock.
