Stamp Off CASE the Catalog
Hi, Stamping Friends! It’s time for another Stamp Off! with Susan, Jackie, and me.
This week, we’re CASE-ing the Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog.
I love CASE challenges. First – CASE stands for “Copy and Share Everything.” So when you CASE a project, you can copy the project exactly, or copy the sketch, or copy the colors. For our challenge today, I CASEd the sketch. Here’s the project we chose to CASE.
I absolutely love the Prized Peony Bundle, but I have a lot of friends who love the beach so I decided to use the Seaside View Stamp Set for this CASE. So here’s my card.
I love the Seaside View Stamp Set because it’s so peaceful and “beachy.” I love the beach, and I’m sad that we haven’t been able to visit yet this year. But I also love the mountains – which are much closer to us – and we’ve been there a lot!
For this card, I stamped the image from the Seaside View Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I used my Stamparatus, because I wanted to stamp the image again in Versamark Ink over the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I sprinkled some Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder over the image and heated with my heat tool. (True confessions. None of that is true. I stamped in Versamark ink, then embossed with retired Basic Black embossing powder. But if you don’t have Basic Black Embossing Powder, you can use my lie to create the same effect.)
I used Water Painters to color the image with Crumb Cake, Balmy Blue, Bumblebee, and Cinnamon Cider Classic Stampin’ Pads. I stamped the sentiment from the Pampered Pets Stamp Set using the Tuxedo Black Memento Pad on a scrap of Whisper White Cardstock, then punched the edges with the Banners Pick a Punch Punch from the August – December Mini Catal0g.
After embossing a piece of Balmy Blue Cardstock with the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder, I layered it to a Crumb Cake card base. Using Paper Snips, I created a banner from a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, then added it to the card. I layered the watercolored image to a slightly larger piece of Crumb Cake Cardstock, then added it and the sentiment to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The final touch was to add a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
Now please check out Susan’s and Jackie’s blogs to see how they CASEd our card today. Did they use the same colors? The sketch? I can’t wait to find out!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
