Path of Petals

Path of Petals

September is just around the corner, and it’s a huge birthday month for our family. Mike & I have three nieces, a nephew, a sister, and many cousins all having birthdays in September. His mother and grandfather and a couple of my uncles were also born in September – and so were Mike & I.

Since we have so many birthdays to celebrate (and most are females), I wanted to get a jump on the card making.

Stampin' Up!, Path of Petals, Beautiful Friendship

I absolutely love the Path of Petals Stamp Set. The blossoms are so delicate, and since the blossoms and stems/leaves are different stamps, it’s simple to create with multiple colors.

For this card, I used Just Jade Classic Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock for the leaves. Then I added the flowers in Highland Heather. I stamped he sentiment, from the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set (another gorgeous flower set), in Gorgeous Grape.

The 3-3/4″ x 5″ Very Vanilla panel is layered to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Just Jade Cardstock. I wrapped the top layers with some 3/8″ Tricolor Ribbon, then added it to a Mint Macaron card base.

This is a very simple, quick card, and it’s perfect for beginner stampers. While I used colors from the 2020-2022 In Color, Subtles, Brights, and Basics Collections, you could easily use all Subtles colors (Highland Heather, Pear Pizazz, Soft Seafoam) with the Very Vanilla Cardstock. And the sentiments in the Path of Petals Stamp Set are lovely and can be used for several occasions.

Tomorrow is a very special August birthday. Miss Amelia will be six years old tomorrow, and today she started first grade. I can’t believe how fast the past six years have flown. She has been out of school physically since March because of the virus, and we spent a lot of the summer swimming. I’m going to miss her visits! She and her dad came over for a last swim before school yesterday, and she set up a little “play corner” for her birthday.

She set all of this up by herself. All I did was add the banner and hang her poster.

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Thank you, Deborah! I love the purple ribbon. Amelia brought her poster (which, folded up, is actually a card) when she came to swim that day. And then it just blossomed into a birthday/fun corner! She claims all the areas in our houses that seem neglected. My parents don’t use the dining room right now, so she turned it into her playroom. Her mom has a spare bedroom in her house. No one is using it so – instant room for Amelia’s excess toys. I make sure I use my craft room every time she’s here or she’d take it over. (Ha – what am I saying? She’s already taken it over.)
