Gather Together and Give Thanks
Happy Monday, Everyone! Although it may be Tuesday…I totally forgot that Sunday was, well, Sunday, and forgot to schedule Monday’s post. Oops! I can’t keep track these days.
Anyway – today’s card looks very similar to one I posted a few weeks ago. You can see that one, using the Stampin’ Up!® Love of Leaves Bundle, here.
For my card today, I used the Gather Together Bundle. It’s a beautiful set, and the coordinating Gathered Leaves Dies have three leaf dies that cut and emboss at the same time. So fun! Take a look.
You may remember this set from last year’s Holiday Catalog. It was a favorite of many, so Stampin’ Up!® brought it back in this year’s August-December Mini. They’ve never done this before, so if you love some of the returning favorites and didn’t order them last year, be sure to snatch them up this year! The best part – they brought back the bundle discount for many of the returning faves as well. So bundle the stamps and coordinating dies and save 10%!
For this thanks card, I used a strip of Magic in this Night Designer Series Paper (DSP). It’s Halloween paper, but many of the designs can be used for other types of cards/projects – and it’s beautiful!
I cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock and embossed it with the Tin Tile 3D Embossing Folder. I layered it to a Cinnamon Cider card base, then added the DSP. The smaller leaves are cut from Gold Foil Sheets. For the larger leaf, I stamped the image in Soft Suede Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, then die-cut it. I wanted it mottled looking, like it had been in the woods for awhile, so I used lots of Stampin’ Blends – Blackberry Bliss, Mango Melody, Cajun Craze, and Mellow Moss. There may have been more. I just kept coloring until I liked it.
The thanks sentiment is die-cut from Cinnamon Cider Cardstock using the Well Written Dies. These dies are a must in my world!
The card is one of the designs I’m making for Mike. You’ve probably heard me whine about painting the condo we’re “flipping.” It was in sad shape when we got it – one cabinet in the kitchen was rotten, some of the wiring was done wrong, it needed some serious paint, and new flooring – just to start. We’re also installing a new HVAC unit, a new backsplash behind the kitchen sink, and dressing up the counter tops. It’s coming along very well, and it’s going to be gorgeous when we finish next Sunday.
Mike and Jon have done most of the technical work, but I agreed to paint. In doing all the renovations, we’ve made quite a bit of noise with saws and sanders and hammers. The neighbors in the other units have been awesome, so we want to send them a “thank you for your patience” card along with a gift card to our favorite barbeque place. This will be one of the cards. They have truly been so gracious, they deserve a treat!
Oh – and speaking of die-cutting and embossing – the larger Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine will be available for purchase on September 1. Since I’m a demonstrator, I got to order one this month, and I love it. It’s very smooth and easy to crank. There’s also a special for those who join the Stampin’ Up!® team in September, so you can get the machine (or another $125 in product), plus two extra stamp sets, a kit, and business supplies for only $99 plus tax. Shipping is free! I’ll share more information closer to September.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, this is so pretty. Those rich fall colors are delightful. I agree, it is challenging to keep track of the days, and I am NOT painting!!

Thanks, Jackie! Maybe when school starts, I’ll get my days straight again. Or maybe not. (I’ll let you know if I try to pick Amelia up from school on a Saturday!)

That is very nice of you to think of the neighbors. I am sure they will love this card and GC!

Thanks, Susan! They’ve been so patient. The gentleman upstairs works nights, but somehow he’s managed to sleep through the noise. Fortunately, I don’t think there are any small children in the complex that need naps! None of us want to deal with parents of small, cranky, sleep children!
