Birds & Branches
Hi, Crafters! I have another card for you using a bundle from the Stampin’ Up!® 2020-2021 Annual Catalog. My friend Jackie has posted some amazing projects with the Birds & Branches bundle, so I was excited when mine arrived and I could play with it.
Not only did I play with the new Birds & Branches Bundle with this card, but my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine also got here last week, so I got to try it out as well. Oh, my goodness! I love it. It is so smooth and easy to crank. Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators can preorder it this month; it will be available to everyone on September 1.
To create my card, I cut the circle/branch from the center of a Crumb Cake Cardstock layer using the Birds & More Dies, then embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I added some 2020-2022 In Color Designer Series Paper (DSP) in Bumblebee behind the cut out area.
I cut the border using the Birds & More Dies, first from the Crumb Cake Cardstock, then from a piece of Misty Moonlight Cardstock. I added the Misty Moonlight into the negative space on the Crumb Cake Cardstock.
Using the Birds & More Dies one more time, I die-cut the bird from Misty Moonlight and the nest from Soft Suede. Using my Stamparatus, I stamped the nest detail from the Birds & Branches stamp set onto the die-cut in Early Espresso Classic Ink. The bird really looked like he should be saying something, so I stamped hello from the Love of Leaves Stamp Set (in the August-December Mini Catalog) in Early Espresso Ink on a little scrap of Bumblebee Cardstock. I fussy cut it to kind of look like a word bubble.
All that was left was to add everything to a Merry Merlot card base. The bird needed an eye, so I added a Rhinestone Basic Jewel.
You can, of course, order the Birds & Branches Stamp Set and the Branches and More Dies separately, but if you bundle them, you’ll save 10%, so you should do that. Because, trust me, if you don’t buy the dies, you’ll want them later. And then you’ll have to pay full price and you’ll be upset with yourself. So save the angst and go ahead and order the bundle.
Don’t forget to redeem the Bonus Days coupons you earned last month. And today (August 10) is the last day to sign up for the August “World’s Greatest” Paper Pumpkin Kit. You can subscribe month to month here, or purchase a 1-, 3-, 6-, or 12-month subscription in my online store.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Ha ha!!! Yes, me too. Jackie pushed me over (as have you, so many, many times). I’m glad we could convince you to order for a change. 🙂

Ha ha! (Tweet!!!) Thanks, Deborah. I also love these birds – even though real birds kind of creep me out. Stamped and die-cut birds, though, I love. (I think I’ve shared my cherry picking story…)
