Stamp Off! Color Challenge

Stamp Off! Color Challenge

Welcome back to another BS&J Stamp Off! I love these challenges, because Susan, Jackie, and I are so laid back and anything goes. This week’s challenge is a color challenge.

Well, I didn’t pick three; I used all four, of course.

I was tempted to use flowers, because these colors would make an awesome floral garden! But I have been using flowers a lot, so I went another way.

Stampin' Up!, Seaside View, Color Challenge

Yep, I went to the beach! Mike & I usually visit Florida every year in May, but this year so many things happened, we didn’t get to go. Of course, the biggest was the stupid Corona Virus. I can’t be too mad; it got me out of my comfort zone and caused me to start online classes – a goal I was reaching for! But there were other reasons – we were super busy with our other businesses, family issues, and more. Still, my heart was there, so I chose the Stampin’ Up!® Seaside View Stamp Set for my card.

I stamped the images on Whisper White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. Then I colored them using Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Highland Heather, Calypso Coral, and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends.  I also added a little sky using Soft Seaspray Classic Ink and a Water Painter. And finally, I added a sentiment using Calypso Coral Classic Ink.

One color is missing – and although I have three already, I really wanted to add the fourth – Pear Pizzazz. Before I added the stamped panel to a Pear Pizzazz panel, then to a Highland Heather card base, I embossed the front of the card base with the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder.

I am so happy with the way this turned out. Usually I have an idea in my head, but this time, I just went with my heart and it worked beautifully! Maybe this means Florida (or another beautiful beach) is in my near future! I’m thinking St. Thomas for my birthday. Or St. John for our anniversary. What do you think, Mike?? Both? (I vote for both!)

Before you head out to do your Friday things, stop by Susan’s and Jackie’s posts today. You will be happy that you took the time to check out their blogs, because they are amazing artists!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have an amazing day!
