Petal Pink Prized Peony
Don’t you love alliteration? This was unintentional. When I save my photos, I like to use the name of the Stampin’ Up!® stamp set and then something extra so I remember which “Prized Peony” (or whatever) it is. In this case, I used the color of the flower – Petal Pink. And then it was too tempting to resist.
I wanted my card to be a little softer, so instead of using black ink to stamp the peony, I used Basic Gray Classic Ink. Because our classic ink is water based, it works well with our Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers.
Next, I used Petal Pink and Just Jade Stampin’ Blends to color the peony. I die-cut the flower using the Peony Dies. These dies are fabulous. Not only can you die-cut the stamped image, but there’s also a border and pieces for a 3D flower. And if you bundle the Prized Peony Stamp Set and the Peony Dies, you’ll save 10%.
I embossed a piece of Petal Pink Cardstock with the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder and a piece of Basic Gray with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and layered them to a Petal Pink card base.
There were a few extra Ornate Layers frames from another project in my “scraps,” so I layered one to the card, then added the die-cut flower. There was just enough room for an Itty Bitty Greetings sentiment in Basic Gray at the bottom. And, yes – aren’t you clever! Those pearls are hiding a smudge, but I think they make the sentiment stand out, so we’ll say that was on purpose. I used the Dark Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend to color them so they’d not totally disappear on the Whisper White frame.

Buffy, this is a STUNNING CARD. The colors you picked, the coloring, the layers… just lovely. And yes, I very much enjoyed your alliteration. However, it is the kind of thing that gets stuck in my head.
