Peaceful Moments

Peaceful Moments

Welcome to another week with Stamping with Buffy! We had a wonderful weekend with family – swimming, eating, and celebrating the dads.

Today, I have a beautiful card for you using the Peaceful Moments Bundle. Actually, I only uses the Poppy Moments Dies, but you might as well add the wonderful sentiments from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set as well. Take a look.

Peaceful Moments, Poppy Moments, Stampin' Up!

This uses several new products – the Just Jade and Magenta Madness Cardstock (two of the new 2020-2022 In Colors) as well as the Greenery Embossing Folders. First, cut a piece of Vellum Cardstock the same size as the Magenta Madness Cardstock. (Sadly, I don’t have the measurements, but it can be any size. Just be sure the Magenta Madness and Vellum are the same size.) Emboss the vellum with the Greener Embossing Folder. Now take a minute to simply bask in the loveliness of the embossed vellum.

Die-cut the appropriate pieces of the flower using Basic Black, Whisper White, and Vellum Cardstock. Die-cut the leaves using Just Jade and Soft Seafoam Cardstock. Layer using a Fine-tip Glue Pen.

Add the flower and leaves to the embossed vellum using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Next, add the vellum to the Magenta Madness Cardstock, being sure to keep the adhesive under the cardstock elements so they won’t show through the vellum. Then add this to a Whisper White card base.

I stamped a small sentiment on a scrap of Magenta Madness Cardstock, then used my Paper Snips to create a banner. The last touch is to add a few Gilded Gems to the card front.

I think the white-on-vellum look is very striking, and, of course, I love embossed vellum. Give this technique a try. It adds an immediate “Wow!” to your project.

Before I leave, I have to show you a picture of Miss Amelia. She is growing so fast, and her parents have been busy buying her new clothes. She loves dresses, and more often than not, that’s what she picks to wear each day. Today she wore one of the new dresses her mom bought her, and was so excited to show it – and the matching hat – to Wes when he got home from work. Of course, his Father’s Day present was something she loves just as much as he will (a kit of science projects),  so I’m thinking they’ll be doing that on rainy afternoons while he’s off.

She has cute little sandals, but her favorite footwear is none. (I can relate.) I can’t believe how big she’s getting. She has officially finished Kindergarten, but is still working through the summer. She is loving math; she finished her Kindergarten math book back in March and is almost finished with the first grade book. And we can’t spell anything in front of her any more, because she can sound it out. We are all making sure she knows that a pretty face is nice, but a kind heart and an intelligent mind is more important. (Yes, I have a grandma bias. I’m not sorry, of course, because it’s my right. I have lots of friends who also have beautiful/handsome and brilliant grands as well, so they understand. We are a happy and blessed lot!)

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a beautiful day!
