Way To Go(at)!

Way To Go(at)!

Without a doubt, the Way To Goat Stamp Set from the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog is one of my favorites. The sentiments are so fun, and the goats are adorable. You can make them simple or step them up.

Here’s a birthday card I made with this set.

Way to Goat, Stampin' Up!

This is another case of letting the Designer Series Paper (DSP) do the work for you. I thought this design of the Flowers for Every Season DSP was perfect since the goat was already eating flowers. Plus there’s that little tin can in case s/he needs a little snack later.

I added the DSP to a Just Jade card base. (How much are you loving the new In Colors? Me too!) I stamped the goat image and the tin can in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then colored with Smoky Slate, Ivory, Just Jade and Magenta Madness Stampin’ Blends.

I love that the stamp set has a ground. It’s always more fun when your images are grounded and not just floating around like there’s no gravity. I stamped the ground in Crumb Cake, then added the sentiments in Just Jade Classic Ink. The second half of the “I got you a cake” sentiment (stamped inside the card) is, “but I ate it.” Very fitting for a goat, don’t you think?

After die-cutting the image using the Stitched Rectangles Dies, I sponged the edges with a little Just Jade Classic Ink before adding it to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thinking about gravity…this is the first scientific term Amelia learned. She was about three or four. She came running into the house one day and said, “Seesa, you know why we don’t just float off into air? Grabity! Because it grabs you and keeps you on the ground.” Makes sense, right? Yesterday I got a picture from Wesley. They are soaking an egg in vinegar to see how long it takes to dissolve the shell. She loves science!

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Buffy, this is a wonderful card! As you said that DSP is the perfect compliment to raise this card to a high level. Did Amelia learn that with increasing age, Grabity makes it look like we weigh more?!

Thanks, Jackie! I’ll have to pass that on. At six, that will thrill her. Give her about 15 years and she’ll want to move to a planet with less gravitational pull!

Love it! And the story – we used to call it ‘grabity’ in our house, too! (and when you trip, it’s called a gravity surge – share that with Amelia!)
