Mossy Cake Pool Challenge
Welcome to another Friday Stamp Off Challenge with my friends Jackie and Susan, and me. Today’s challenge is a color challenge using Pool Party, Mossy Meadow, and Crumb Cake.
I love these colors together, but it ended up being a little bigger challenge than I thought. After staring at the card stock and my Tasteful Touches Stamp Set for about 10 minutes, here’s what I came up with.
First, I stamped the flower from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set (from the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up!® Annual Catalog, available June 3) using Soft Suede Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock. I colored the flower with Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends and Whisper White Watercolor Pencils. Then I fussy cut it with my Paper Snips.
Next, I stamped some of the feathers in Pool Party Classic Ink on Pool Party Cardstock, stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow Classic Ink, and rounded the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch.
I used the retiring Neutrals Designer Series Paper (DSP) in Crumb Cake for the background. I stamped the flowers over the DSP design using Crumb Cake Classic Ink, then layered it to a Mossy Meadow card base. I popped the Pool Party layer to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals, then added the flower in the corner, also with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I added my very last piece of the Crumb Cake Nature’s Twine around the card. I’m so happy to have used up at least one spool of retiring ribbon!
After another cool, rainy spring, everyone in the area was looking forward to warm weather. Today it’s over 80 degrees and sunny. I have promised myself I will not complain since I wished for it so badly. I will say, though, that Willis Carrier is my hero.
Check out what Susan and Jackie have created for you this week! I am always excited to see their “take” on the challenges!
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Very pretty. You are so good at fussy cutting. I made a card yesterday using this bundle and my fussy cut flower doesn’t look half as good as yours!

Awww – thanks, Susan. And I don’t believe you can do anything that doesn’t look good.

This is so pretty Buffy. I love that big sentiment and the placement of the flower. Plus the flowers stamped on the background. I agree with Susan that you are very good at fussy cutting. We know who is the best, so we will NOT be having a fussy cutting Stamp Off challenge!

Thanks, Jackie! I actually enjoy fussy cutting; it’s relaxing for me – unless I have to cut more than three. 🙂 Ummmm – how did I miss that this was also a “bird challenge?” You and Susan hit it out of the park with your birds this week!
