A Little Note
When it comes to color, I’m mostly a Regal or Brights kind of gal, with some Neutral thrown in. I love our Subtle colors, but I don’t use them much except as understated – or “subtle” if you will – elements. So you can imagine my surprise when I created this mostly subtle card. I just kind of let the colors take me where they wanted and this is what I ended up with.
Of course, it helped that this card used 0ne of my absolute favorite colors, Coastal Cabana. I fell in love with this color when it was an In Color. I had quite a bit left when the In Colors that year retired, and while I usually sell or give away my In Color leftovers, I held onto my Coastal Cabana Cardstock for years. I just had a feeling, or at least a strong hope, that it would return. And, as you know, it did!
For this card, I used the Beautiful Friendship Stamp Set. I stamped the flowers in Coastal Cabana, Petal Pink, and Highland Heather Classic Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then stamped the leaves in Mint Macaron Classic Ink.
Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set in Highland Heather at the top of the card. Finally, I sponged a bit of Coastal Cabana Classic Ink over the top and center of the Whisper White Cardstock.
I layered the stamped card stock to a Petal Pink layer, then to a Coastal Cabana card base. Before I send it, I’ll probably add some ribbon or other embellishments to the card. For right now, though, it’s a #simplestamping card, using only stamps, ink, and paper.
If you’re a beginner stamper with few stamp pads, you can easily use Stampin’ Spots for this card. Simply buy the Uninked Stampin’ Spots and Classic Ink Refills of your choice. Another bonus – the spots are perfect for stamping with the Stamparatus. Another low-cost option is to purchase the Subtles Stampin’ Write Markers. Simply switch the Coastal Cabana to Pool Party and you can ink all the stamps with the Stampin’ Write Markers. (Note: Since both stamp sets are photopolymer, you may want to use a Stamparatus if you use Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamps.)
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! Hope you have a lovely day.

Thanks, Peggy! It’s another “out of my comfort zone” card, but it’s good to be stretched, I guess. 🙂

Buffy, this is such a soft, beautiful card. I really like subtles! I had resisted Petal Pink for a long time, but now love it. I think that you have subtles in your future.

Thanks, Jackie! I used to use subtles most of the time. Lately I’ve been gravitating to brights. Weird how things change! I resisted Petal Pink at first as well. It’s really a pretty pink, though.

Oh, this is gorgeous! Like you, I’m usually more of a ‘regal’ colours gal – but this is stunning!

Thanks, Deborah! It is very pale compared to my usual, but I do like the softness of it!

I love this card. It is so soft and romantic. I am a Brights girl but Subtles are my second favorite.

You and Jackie totally converted me to Brights, but I do kind of like the softness of this Subtles card!
