Stamp Off Rectangle Challenge

Stamp Off Rectangle Challenge

Hi, Friends! I cannot believe how fast this week has gone. Stampin’ Up!® held a virtual event Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and it was so much fun. Time simply flew by! I loved being able to join with thousands of demonstrators all over the world and learn new things.

Today, Susan, Jackie, and I have a fun Stamp Off Challenge for you. We’re using rectangles. After I show my project for today, I have a cute “rectangles” story for you.

Comfort & Hope, Tasteful Touches, Stampin' Up!

This card uses the new Comfort and Hope and Tasteful Touches Stamp Sets from the 2020-2021 Stampin’ Up!® Catalog. (These will be available June 3.)

I started with a Pretty Peacock card base, then added some Pretty Peacock Designer Series Paper (DSP). Next, I used the Stitched Rectangles Dies to die-cut two rectangles from Whisper White Cardstock. On the larger one, I stamped the greenery from the Tasteful Touches Stamp Set in Pretty Peacock Classic Ink. The first image is full strength, and the second (on the right) is stamped off one time. (Tip: If you want to stamp off and your first image is off the paper, do not stamp again. Instead, ink the stamp a second time, then stamp off on scrap paper, then stamp the “second generation” image. Otherwise, you could end up with a funky image where the stamp crossed the edge of your card stock.)

I added the sentiment from the Comfort and Hope Stamp Set, also in Pretty Peacock Classic Ink. Using Mango Melody, I stamped some of the rhinestones, then added a couple “real” rhinestones. The one on the bottom corner of the Whisper White card stock is colored using a Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend.

To brighten the card a bit, I colored some Whisper White ribbon with the Dark Mango Melody Stampin’ Blend. I love this technique/idea, because you can have ribbon in any color. Sadly, the ribbon I grabbed has retired, but there’s plenty of Whisper White and Very Vanilla in the catalog that’s still available.

I “notched” the end of the smaller Stitched Rectangle Die-cut and added it under the Stamped layer.

Remember, the Comfort and Hope and Tasteful Touches Stamp Sets will be available June 3. The Tasteful Touches Stamp Set is available to demonstrators now, though. If that sounds like fun, you can join my team today and enjoy this cool benefit!

Before you leave, please check out Jackie’s and Susan’s rectangle projects!

And now my story. When the kids were little, Mike would sometimes tease them when their hair was tangled, saying they had “rat tangles” in their hair. Wesley was just learning different shapes, so when I was combing his hair one day, he said, “Careful, Mom. I have triangles in my hair.” They both keep their hair very short these days, so no more rat tangles (or rectangles or triangles!) I can’t believe my “baby” is going to be 28 Monday. Where does time go?

Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!
