Celebrate Sunflowers

Hi, Crafty Friends! I had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday. It was so fun to have all the kids (except Amelia) and my parents together for the day. And it was sunny and “warmish.”

As a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator, I get to “preorder” products from the new catalogs a month before the actual release date. That’s so demonstrators can get familiar with products and start creating with them so we’ll be ready when the catalogs launch. My preorder got here Thursday. But this happened.

Yes, the cat who steals my sponges also held my preorder hostage. I was able to distract her with a larger (and open) box that she could play in. Pets are so much fun! I had a Zoom class Saturday, and one of the attendees asked who was snoring. Our dog Max, of course, and he could be heard from a room away. Then both cats made appearances on screen. And then I kept hearing this commotion behind me. What in the world? Apparently the other cat had found the large box and was inside chasing his tail. Hilarious. Fortunately, it was a free class, so I didn’t feel as bad about having all the distractions!

Our Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator Gathering of local demos is this Thursday. I offered to do the Make & Take, since the packet has to be mailed. I wanted to use some products from the new 2020-2021 Catalog, so created this for the gathering.

This uses lots of new product. First – there are two new In Colors, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee. I also used the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper (DSP), which is packed with 24 gorgeous sheets (2 each of 12 double-sided designs) of photographic images and visual textures. And I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set and Sunflowers Dies (which, of course, I bundled to save 10%).

Because not everyone has the same stamps/dies, I used the Sunflowers Dies to cut the base of the flower (from Bumblebee) and the detail and center (from Cinnamon Cider). The Early Espresso center is also a die in the set, as are the Granny Apple Green leaves.

I adhered the DSP to a Bumblebee card base. Before I adhered the Cinnamon Cider strip to the card, I ran it through my Die-Cutting Machine with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, then added the sunflower and leaves over the background pieces.

The sentiment is stamped on one of the Painted Labels Diecuts. I stamped in Versamark on the Early Espresso label using one of the stamps from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set and embossed it with Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (retiring in June). And – good news! – some returning bundles, including the Painted Poppies and Peaceful Moments Bundles from the January-June Mini Catalog, will remain at the 10% discounted price.

Please note that the Celebrate Sunflowers Stamp Set, the Sunflowers Dies, Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder, In Good Taste Designer Series Paper, and Bumblebee and Cinnamon Cider Cardstock will not be available (except to demonstrators) until June 3, 2020. This card is a “sneak peek” to whet your stamping appetite for the new catalog!
