In Color Stamp Off
Happy Friday, my friends! It’s time for another Stamp Off challenge with Susan, Jackie, & me.
This week, we’re using retiring In Colors. Lovely Lipstick, Grapefruit Grove, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, and Blueberry Bushel are retiring June 2, 2020. I’m going to miss them for a lot of reasons. The first – Lovely Lipstick. What a fun red! It’s not pink, but it’s not red either. The second reason – Blueberry Bushel. Oh, my goodness, what a gorgeous Blue. It added a gorgeous pop to so many projects. The third reason – Crayola. I called these the “Crayola Colors,” because they are so bright and beautiful. And add Gorgeous Grape or Highland Heather, and you have a rainbow. All of the colors were so bright and happy. But, take heart – the new In Colors are also very beautiful. You can see four of the five in the May Paper Pumpkin kit. (Happily – but also sadly, this kit has sold out already.) The colors in the Paper Pumpkin kit will be – Bumblebee (a dusty yellow), Just Jade (somewhere between Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay), Magenta Madness (what a gorgeous pinky red! It’s a little more pink than Lovely Lipstick), Misty Moonlight (blue, of course. It’s hard to tell online, but if you’ve been a Stampin’ Up!® artist for awhile, it looks like a cross between Ballet Blue and Brocade Blue – two of my favorite retired blues!), Pumpkin Pie, and Purple Posy (these you know already).
Here’s a photo of the colors in the kit (excluding Misty Moonlight).
You can see Just Jade, Magenta Madness, and Bumblebee on the box. The light lavender is Purple Posy. But look to the right…you can see Misty Moonlight in the embellishments.
So while I’ll miss the 2018-2020 In Colors, I’m looking forward to the 2020-2021 colors! The fifth may be my favorite, but I can’t share until I get the “Official Okey-Dokey” from Stampin’ Up!®.
In the meantime, here’s a look at the five retiring In Colors. Yes, I did use all five in my card for today’s challenge.
My card base and the embossed layer are Grapefruit Grove. I embossed the 4″ x 5-1/4″ layer with the Layered Leaves 3D Embossing Folder. This is also retiring, so be sure to order it before it’s too late.
I stamped the little girls and birds from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, then die-cut with the Stitched Layers Dies. I colored the image with Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch, Call Me Clover, Ivory, and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends Markers. Then I added a sky using an Aqua Painter and Blueberry Bushel Classic Ink. I added a slightly larger Pineapple Punch circle from the Layering Circles Dies under the stamped image.
The sentiment from the Beautiful Moments Stamp Set is stamped in Grapefruit Grove Classic Ink. I punched it using the Tailored Tag Punch, then ran a Pineapple Punch Dark Stampin’ Blend around the edge.
After adding the stamped circle to the scallop circle die-cut, I adhered it to the card base (over the embossed layer), then added the sentiment tag using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
If you want any of the retiring products, you should order now, because retiring products are only available while supplies last. The Stampin’ Blends light and dark single packs will be retiring; they’ll be available in the new catalog as combo packs only. And right now, the Layering Circles Dies are sold out, although they will be returning with a new order number.
Before you head into the rest of your day, please see how Jackie and Susan have used the retiring In Colors.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy! I hope you have a lovely day!

Buffy, this is a wonderful card. You balanced the strong colors in such a way that it is perfect. I agree that mixing these colors with others is a better option
