Best Dressed with Beautiful You
I can’t believe it’s Wednesday already. Not only do days pass quickly when you get older, but weeks (and months and years!) do as well. A picture of Amelia popped up on my Facebook timeline yesterday; it was from three years ago, but seemed like just yesterday. Every time I blink, she seems to grow up so much more.
Speaking of time flying…It also seems like just yesterday that I won the Beautiful You Stamp Set at a Stampin’® Up! OnStage event. It has always been one of my favorite stamp sets. Sadly, it’s retiring at the end of the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog sales period on June 2. Although I won’t be sharing it on my blog or in classes after it retires, I’m still going to use it for cards for family and friends.
This card uses several retiring products – the Lovely Lipstick Cardstock, Lovely Lipstick Stampin’ Blends, and Classic Stampin’ Ink; the Best Dressed Designer Series Paper (DSP), and the Beautiful You Stamp Set. It’s always sad when things retire, but there are also gorgeous and fun new products to look forward to!
It was super easy to create this card. First, I stamped the lady in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock. There was just enough room to add the sentiment in Lovely Lipstick Classic Ink. I colored the image with Lovely Lipstick, Petal Pink, and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, then die-cut with one of the Stitched Rectangles Dies. While I was cutting, I added a larger stitched rectangle with Lovely Lipstick Cardstock to my “sandwich” so I could cut both rectangles at the same time.
After creating a Lovely Lipstick card base, I added a 4″ x 5-1/4″ piece of Best Dressed DSP (from the January-June Mini Catalog) to the front of the card. Then I simply added my stamped layers to the front with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I love when you can let “tools” like paper and die-cuts do most of the work for you. And I only just realized the timeliness of this card with all the pinks and greens. This weekend would have been our annual Apple Blossom Festival. Our town swells in size as tourists, marching bands, celebrities, and groups from all over the country don their finest pinks and greens and join us for parades, parties, and other events throughout the weekend. My favorite is the Arts and Crafts festival in the park. Sadly, due to Covid-19, the festival was canceled this year for the first time since WWII. Mike & I usually head out of town for the weekend, but for most locals, it’s a big deal. It really has nothing to do with the apple industry any more, but it is a big tourist event, and the local establishments (hotels, restaurants, and shops) will miss it for sure. The weekend forecast (at least for now) is rather dreary, so it wouldn’t have been as comfortable watching parades in the rain!
You can see the list of retiring products on my web site, and you can shop 24/7 from my online store. Some of the retiring products have been marked down, so take advantage of the special prices! Remember, retiring products are only available while supplies last, so order now.
Thanks for stopping by Stamping with Buffy. Have a lovely day!

Oh, Peggy, I’m so sorry! Terry Bradshaw would be fun to see! When I checked a few days ago, the weather looked dreary. Now they’re calling for a warm and sunny Saturday, adding insult to injury. Maybe I’ll take a long walk and pretend I watching floats and bands!
